In Hindsight do you still trade Marshall for Eggnew and a 3rd rounder?

I honestly would have not traded him. I don't care if he would yell at tannehill every play at this point (which I'm sure he wouldn't have and the coaching staff would have told him to take it easy on a rookie). Our offense is so unathletic and lacking playmakers on offense. Marlon/Richard s should never be our 3rd WR on this roster, they are scrubs and we can't rely on them. In the redzone I was actually glad we got false starts because I know both bess/hartline don't have the speed to get enough separation in such small amount of grass/room neither do they have elite height to jump over CBs. Our only hope in the redzone is to run/ram the ball in for a TD or throw it to fasano because of his height/hands. Marshalll has been raping this season (had 160 yards/1 TD today). So my question to you all do you still trade marshall for a Tide end that can't get on the field and a 3rd rounder or do you keep him.

    In hindsight, definitely not.

However, I remember all the **** Marshall used to get and now we are all begging to have him back.

Although at the time of those drops in the game at that moment I would get pissed, I never wanted to trade him after the season and was very happy/excited to watch him in the pro bowl and unfortunately bought his jersey as well.

No. Marshall is not a winner. Case in point. 160 yds today and they lost. He's a glory hog and would only stifle thill. I'm pissed at our wrs but I don't want marshall back. Besides, we need a deep threat. We need a mike Wallace, not a Brandon Marshall.

That's a pretty stupid reason not to have him. He's a great receiver.

I wouldn't have traded him. He was our best receiver unquestionably. It is only *really* bad because we did nothing to replace. Legedu? Ochocinco? Please.

Mike Wallace isn't even in the same galaxy of marshall as a complete Wide receiver. By the way Marshall played his heart out it's not his fault they lost of course you just looked at the stats/loss and blamed it on him ignoring jay cutler picks and other team failures.

Marshall out doing wallace with jay cutler and it's not close lol. Wallace hasn't done jack**** to be compared to marshall this season and he has the same drop issues this season.

Wasn't looking up stats. I knew cutler threw picks. I also dont care how a wr does if the team loses. Didn't say Wallace was better then marshall either. But this dolphins team needs what mike Wallace can do more then it needs what Marshall can do. A deep threat.

Yes. Brandon Marshall is basically a poor man's Terrell Owens, and I can't imagine he plays out his contract with the Bears.

Is he? Because he's done nothing to merit "greatness". He'll get his chance this year in the playoffs I suppose but he disappears in big games and again, like today, only seems to have big days in losses.

No you don't trade great "team" players that are part of a winning fabric.

Yes, I would've traded him. What did Marshall do for us? That's all we should care about.

As far as the draft goes, I would not have taken Egnew. I would have taken Mohammad Sanu there, to be honest.

People forget, we weren't a powerhouse with Marshall. We weren't even good. Not sure why people think Marshall would win us games when he didn't when he was here.

I wouldn;t have used the pick on Egnew. Watching his college film he looked allergic to blocking. Like totally averse to it in all ways. Like two positive ends of magnets repelling each other.

Never. Marshall would be our best player right now. Unless we get. Gronkowski in the 3rd next year, it was a loss trading Marshall to the bears.

Marshall gave us a go-to receiver that defenses had to respect. Do we have that now?

LOFL. It is the exact opposite as has been demonstrated ad nauseum in this very forum. Where were you when this was demonstrated?

I love it when people just make **** up and actually believe what they made up.

But were not good now. At least we could see how well Tannehill is with an actual threat outwide. I seriously doubt any 3rd rounders we daft are going to have any significant impact a #1 WR could.

In hindsight, you don't make the original trade for him. But since Ireland is unable to draft a player of that caliber, our hands were tied.

This. Bill Walsh said it best, "I want a team of Super Bowlers, not Pro Bowlers." He has too many drops in key moments. Yeah, he's talented. Yeah, he's significantly better than anyone we have. Having said that, he's not a guy you want on your team if you're trying to build a winning culture.

yes I would still have traded him. Brandon Marshall is a cancer and would have set us back in the locker-room

They traded him for a reason and it wasn't because they think Eggnew is a pro-bowler

This. The mistake wasnt trading Marshall. That was one of Irelands BEST moves. He rented Marshall for 2 years at the cost of 2 2's and got 2 3's back and dumped a 10M a year contract. The mistake was not replacing Marshall and thats part of why I cant freakin stand Ireland. He does something intelligent like realizing his mistake and doesnt draft or sign an adequate replacement. Even if the replacement wasnt as good as Marshall just an adequate starter would have sufficed to at least help.

    Yes in fantasy football.

Hate to break it to you, but Brandon Marshall's career trajectory has him in Canton. It's damn near a lock if he can produce 5 more years at his average production.

The answer is no. If a GM traded Brandon Marshall for Egnew and a 3rd, he would probably be fired the next day. Any Dolphin fan that can't objectively view the Marshall trade as an unmitigated disaster is kidding themselves or making a hobby out of defending Ireland's boobery.

It's really pretty simple. You don't trade your best offensive player unless there is a sure fire plan to replace him right away. Hartline and Bess are really good complimentary Wr's and that's about it. So if the plan was to just have them step in and get some Wr's behind them that are decent then someone should be fired.

So far we have a player that is said to have the potential to finally see the field maybe next season. The man who traded away two 2's to begin with, then took two 3rd's to get rid of him then uses a 3rd round pick on a player, that has yet to snif the field much less get on it........someone should be fired!

    Guess who?

I was hoping that man would just go after Boldin but no, he just had to have Marshall, who is an excellent Wr but Boldin was much more of a safer, solid choice.

That pass late in the 4th quarter to Bess could have been caught by Marshall. He gets seperation and is deceptively fast in stride. Yeah yeah, I know someone will say he'd have dropped it anyway but his size is sorely missed on the outside.

Hate to break to you, hes as overrated as any player I have EVER watched. I dont care where his career trajectory puts him the guys isnt a winner. Hes a distraction to his team on and off the field, he thinks every play should be going to him, he drops passes that GREAT receivers dont drop (not the number of drops even, just open ones)...HOF my ***. Only in the world of fantasy football. Quick how many playoff games has he been on the winning side of?
