There is no discrete answer to this question, but I think we should all be able to agree that the commitment should be longer than two years.

Why? If he was horrible he'd have been out in the first year, like Cameron.

I just don't see any point for loyalty or sticking to something you hate in the NFL world. They cut players and coaches all the time, fair or not. There's no loyalty or sticking to something top down, why should there be in the other direction. Frankly, if my coach is miserable and wants out bad enough he's willing to quit and go somewhere else, why would I want him to stick around? We did that with JJ and got Wannidiot for our troubles.

Why? When the fundamental issue is how happy an employee is with his job?

Coaches contracts are constantly terminated around the league to wide-spread applause.

This is laughable. Huizenga gave Saban one of the best deals any head coach has ever had in the history of the league. He wasn't firing him after 1 or 2 years after making that commitment. (Saban later rationalized leaving by saying he thought he was going to get fired after going 6-10, which is absurd on its face considering Huizenga begged him to stay.)

If she is it would be damn funny, as I believe she supposedly was the instigator for him leaving Miami to go back to the college game.

Nick realized he'd screwed the pooch with Culpepper and was stuck with him. His fragile ego couldn't handle coaching a losing team hamstrung by Culpepper, so he left. Whether he, through agents, initiated the contact with Ala or not, is unkown.
