....Tony Sparano got fired today, and he created a tumblr with nothing but this picture, and these words, in this font?

I'd track down his address, and have him a pizza delivered. Maybe with a card that says, even though you screwed us up, you screwed the Jests up even more. For that, I thank you.

I'd tell him "thank you Tony...now can you wiggle your way into the O-coordinator position of New England?"

Just amazes me that Rex Ryan put his entire coaching life with the Jets into the hands of Tony Sparano and Mark Sanchez.

Just absolutely amazing. Not that I am a Ryan fan (though there are some elements of his coaching I like); and I am thrilled at the Jets failures. But, I never cease to be dumbfounded at people at the very highest levels of their profession making such huge errors in judgment that many others around them could see for a long time; even the most casual observers. There was no way Sparano was going to be a good OC. And, Sanchez has been nothing better than a tag-along player (riding the wave of a good running game and great defense to get every one of his playoff wins) who has lost more games from his poor play than he has won from his good play.

He is doing the same thing there that he did here. Your QB is struggling all game, finally puts together a decent drive with a couple of good throws, then pulls him out for the wildcat.

Unbelievable bad projections by that organization..

It's so obvious the mindset to bring tebow in.."uhhhh duh, sparano ran the wildcat, sooo tebow could do what Ronnie could do and pass the ball better..yeah, lets run some wildcat with sparano and tebow."

What's not being talked about is this man does not have the scheme acumen to design plays like what Denver did with him, that's the bottom line as to why he didnt get play all year, and why they continued to go with the biggest pu##y in football, mark Sanchez.

Trent Dilfer was funny last nite, he was commenting on disrupting rhythm, took a shot at him saying he was " the jets genius offensive coordinator"....lol

My goodness is mark Sanchez soft...jet fans over the past couple years defending this guy?? Completely hilarious..nice player to move up to 5 to take...good gm'n tannebum.

I don't think Rex wanted Tebow. Now he's just being stubborn this year by not using him. I'm glad he didn't because I think Tebow wins a couple games for them like he could have done last night if used right.

Jets could have kicked two field goals last night to win the game, instead of those two turnovers at the end... this isn't Sparano's fault :shifty:

I think Rex wanted him, sparano sold him on running some wildcat and what that did for our run game.

If you think about this in Sparanos head, tebow= Ronnie + some passing ability..

That's as far as his X's and O's went.

Sparano has actually had some solid moments this season. You're essentially destined to fail when you have that kind of talent though.

The worst part for the Jets is that they can't afford to cut Sanchez this offseason. They're screwed for another 3 seasons at least.

Not sure if serious. The Sanchize situation is pretty damn entertaining. Go Jets!

It is pure hubris by Ryan. He hired Tony cause they share the same philosophy: win with defense and a strong ground game and field goals. He stuck with Sanchez cause Sanchez got him to consecutive AFC Championship games.

Rex Ryan believed in Rex Ryan. Rex believed he didn't need a fancy passing offense to win. Rex was wrong.

I had to chuckle at the comments Gruden made a few times last evening about how inserting Tebow either ruined or didn't allow Sanchez to get into a flow. Reminded me of all the criticism on this board whenever Sparano/Henning took Henne out of a drive when he had a hot hand in order to run a wildcat play or two.

    the poor house
and this is why we shouldn't of been too hard on Henne and this stunt killed the careers of Ronnie Brown and Chad Henne at least here in Miami .

How is this a negative? Odds are that Sanchez will eventually turn the ball over. Quit while you're ahead.

well, on the radio Brandt mentioned that Sanchez will be on cap next year for 17 million, which means we get another year of Sanchez playing QB!
question is: will they draft a QB in 1st round

A QB needs to be able to get into rhythm. We complained about it here when Henne would get pulled.

Sanchez, like Henne, is quite streaky. The few times he's in a groove he tends to be dangerous.
