Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

The Falcons logo isn't better. IMO that is one of the worst logos in all of sports. Hey look...it is a bird that has transformed into an F. *yawn*

 

Hmmmm...

 

Interesting since it is pretty spot on for a dolphins tail.

Any one who mentions "it looks like a whale" or "a whales tail" knows nothing about a dolphin and hasn't done any fact checking.

Quick thoughts on logo leak: No clue if it's real and I think it's very easy to be negative right off the bat. Change scares people. I'll reserve judgment A) until we know if it's real and B) until we see how it looks on helmet/with uniform. Hard to judge it standing alone.

Finally, as I've said a million times--there are no right/wrong answers with this kind of thing. Everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion. This sort of thing is as subjective as it comes. Respect all opinions.

 

Jesse Agler will reserve judgment until it's unveiled and then tell you he loves it, because he remembers who signs his paychecks.

 

Pretty much, be we all remember him saying its not his cup of tea, so well see where he goes with this one

 

You have it all wrong. This is what a whale tail looks like.

 

Maybe it's just me, but they look exactly alike, except for the barnacles on the whale.

 

It's just that Dolphins usually aren't seen with their tails up like that. So it's more of a Whale pose than a Dolphins one.

Since everyone stole the wildcat concept from us, we should just steal other team's logos. Rotate them weekly. When we p,ay the Raiders, we have the same logo, but put the patch on the other eye. The Pats? Turn the flying Elvis around. And we do it in our own color scheme to really tick off the fan bases around the league.

 

We're like Mega Man. I like it.

 

The overall response to the new (now old) logo was positive. People thought it was a nice modern version. You can even check out Cris Creamer's Sports Logo site and see that it has a pretty high rating. Like I said, this proposed one is generic and corporate.

And I've never met a single Pats fan who prefers the old logo to the new one. Patriot Pat was probably the second most made fun of Mascot, behind Bucco Bruce. Probably because both looked like the enjoyed it from behind.

 

Like I said, I just think it's an unnecessary change. I'm sure there are financial reasons at play here for Ross, which is fine. I don't really blame him for that even though I think he's making a mistake if he settles for this.

 

It is very rare that switching a logo is a necessary change.

 

Had a few days to digest it, and I still hate it.

The pose change bothers me.

 

tell you what. Let's compromise.

Drop the Sun. Add a "M" instead. I'll be happy with the blind Dolphin having a seizure.

Giants, Packers, Bears, 49ers, Ravens. All great franchises that incorporate a letter logo representing their city. let's join them.

 

Unnecessary in that it doesn't look better. Sometimes logos become outdated, like the Buccs and Pats, as I mentioned.

The Tigers, for example, changed their logo from a Tiger to an Old English 'D' because they were so horrible during those years and associated the logo with losing.

It's change for the sake of change.

 

It is change because the current logo is outdated. Good reason as any.

 

The current Dolphins logo is just as bad as those two were.

 

It's really not though.

Either way, do you consider it an upgrade? I don't see many here saying they love it.

I don't love it, but I definitely think its an upgrade.

How is it outdated? I'm all for a new logo, but newer doesn't mean better. I prefer a lot of the fan made ones. Unfortunately, the one the Dolphins came up with is the one I like the least, and I'm not alone there.

 

Some of us buy team gear. If we are gonna wear it on Sunday's, we have a right to get worked up over it.

 

The current logo looks like a Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtle from the 90s

Well..there you have it. Some of us don't, and are a little pissed off about wearing something we don't like. I'm hoping for a alternate logo.
