Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

I've been checking the tweets search for MikeDeeFins and wow has his tweeter been exploded the last few days. I wanna say most have been negative towards the "prototype"

 

Good thing the ones in power agree with me and are not making change for change sake.

I was kind of ambivalent(but didn't see it as a threat to my sexuality) before, but it looks quite good on the helmet.

 

I think it would be a mistake to make the dolphin aggro or angry. Its a dolphin. Dolphins are not mean. Ravens, eagles, seahawks, bears, and lions all have claws and fangs and all kinds of flesh-tearing sharp stuff. Dolphins are just kinda friendly.

Dolphins are not threatening and its stupid to make the logo all aggressive and tough. You gotta play the hand you're dealt. Therefore, I like the new logo with the elongated dolphin.

 

I do not agree. Dolphins are known for raping things to death. That is pretty mean.

plus they can kill sharks

 

We can't include a boner in the logo, now can we? And I'm not for the glorification of marine mammal rape. Killing sharks is cool, no doubt. How do they do that? With dolphin boners?

 

Rooting for a team with a helmet like that would be an absolute embarrassment.
That is the dumbest looking thing I have ever seen.

I know you like the old logo as well. For me it's something I wear proudly around town. Since it is going to happen no matter what, I would like it to be something I WANT to wear. During the offseasons, I would wait for field gear to come out and be one of the first ones wearing it. With this supposed prototype, I don't see an upgrade, over what I strongly believe will never be outdated and also being one that can be tweaked ever so slightly thru the years to be even better.

So yeah, I'm pissed that they (if this is indeed the correct one) told us subtle change, and made a drastic change into something that I will have to live with because I'm a fan.

 

I don't think anyone will have a lot of problems were you to stop rooting for this team.

 

He had to modify the tail. That version looks better than the current prototype, but still meh.

 

Then why do you have your panties in a bunch over my negative opinion of that awful logo?

They're very curious around humans and can be tamed. They're smart but they're one of the biggest preditors in the ocean. They kill and have a blast while doing it. We, as humans see a nice tamed Dolphin but I've seen a pod of them teaming up on a school of baitfish and it was a timely, well thought out, massacre.

 

Not a fan of it either but I've seen farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr worse.

 

A pod of them will run circles around a shark so fast that the shark will not know what to do. Even one on one the shark does not have a good percentage chance to win. The only thing that can beat a Dolphin is probably a killer whale. Especially if it's a pod of each going at it.

 

Orcas are freaking scary when they want to be.

 

Funny, it's pretty much the same thing without the cartoon face or helmet, so I'm wondering how you could like the current one at all.

 

Re: Update on new logo

This potentially new logo does look too unimaginative and corporate. It is change for change sake. I hope, and honestly believe, that this is not anywhere near the finished product.

When they last updated the logo, I liked it, but I thought it was a bit too cartoonish. Though looking at it side by side with the classic stencil logo, I preferred the new one.

I don't absolutely hate this new potential logo, but side by side, I absolutely prefer the current one.

The classic stencil, and the current cartoon, each had a HELMET wearing Dolphin JUMPING in front of the sun.

I personally like those elements, because that IS the Dolphins logo.

Since 1966 any jumping Dolphin logo looks like a rip off of the Miami Dolphins logo. So every aquarium and pool cleaning company in the world has tried to use a Dolphin in a unique natural pose, or a more cartoonish one. Therefore this new swimming Dolphin logo looks just like something lame we've already seen before.

I hope they ultimately stick with something closer to what the Dolphins have already established as their look.

 

I absolutely hate this new logo that is being presented. It would be highly insulting to use it as the new logo. It barely represents anything that was the old logo besides being kind of like a dolphin and the sunburst. HIGHLY insulting.

If it is they should say something too... I mean there is so much talk about the logo, if the cat is out of the bag might as well say something... The surprise is over... Mike Dee said we would hear something soon, I hope its sooner rather then later. Lets end the speculation!

 

believe it was stated that there would be minor tweaks and that they weren't going to lose the identity of the older logos. That thing doesn't look like any of the logos we have had, not even close.

 

It is a Dolphin on a sun, that is pretty close. It isn't changing it to a M or something like that. They moved the tail, got rid of the helmet, and changed the color. Not nearly as big a tweak that you are making it out to be.

That is if this is actually the logo, which we do not know yet.

 

They posted a poll. 74% like the old one better.

You actually like it? Looks like a Miami Seaquarium logo. Honestly, it doesn't have any character to it...It would be better if they dropped the tail down some and gave it a face, there is just something that screams cruise/hotel/country club about it. It has no soul....

 

there is an eye in the logo that i find funny no one is even pointing out. In the leaked logo you can clearly see the eye

 

I like the one in the OP much better. I am more indifferent to the new one presented. I like that the fact that it gets rid of the helmet making it actually look like a NFL team's logo rather than a 90s cartoon show with its own catchphrase. "It's flippin time!"

It reminds me a lot of the lions logo.
