So the season is over. It brought joys and pain, hopes and disappointments. Mostly, I will miss all you guys here on the forum who I love talking with during the season. From the analytical discussions, to the contentious arguments, and the silly threads too (my wife still isn't sure she trusts Coach Feldman, by the way). I thought a nice way to wrap up this season, during the season to be jolly, would be a gratitude thread. Each person can express one thing you are grateful for... it can be about the Dolphins, or about ThePhins.com, or about your own life. I'll go first. I am grateful for a wonderful rollercoaster ride this year with all my friends here, from a rookie QB who surprised us in camp and became a starter, to all of our ridiculous discussions and arguments, and still wishing one another well over the holidays. This is like a big dysfunctional family (with Shou as the molester uncle... just kidding Shou! that's reserved for deej) and I love every one of y'all. Thanks for a great season. Have a Happy New Year.
Ryan Tannehill is the easy one, so I'm opting for our Oline. I'm psyched as hell about (a) Pouncey developing into an elite center and finding a potentially good replacement for Jake Long. Kudos to the management for prepping for the latter.
Thanks BPK for this thread. Thanks also to the owners of this site that let us come here and vent about our favorite team. The draft can't come soon enough. I hope for anyone but the Pats to win the Super Bowl.
I'm grateful that we're in great cap shape, a plethora of draft picks, and a young offense that can only improve.
I'm glad I stayed out of the Tannehill threads the last half of the season. Made this forum a much nicer place to visit I'm glad we have our QB of the future, tons of draft picks and clean and open salary cap.
I'm grateful for a year of wonderful memories, from who's efforts brought a smile to my face nearly every sunday, despite our setbacks endured through this otherwise lackluster 7-9 season. Long live Tony Sparano!!
definitely tannehill and philbin. i think we found our qb/head coach duo for a long time. now to get the qb some weapons. even though we lost today i am very pleased with this season i honestly thought we were a 2 or 3 win team.
Well,we finished second in the division I guess thats a plus. We have a few major pieces of the puzzle to acquire to make us a true contender.New head coach and QB and we still played respectable so hopefully were on our way.
I am thankful for everything in my life. The good stuff makes me stay true to myself and my family and the bad stuff made me the man I am today. Corny... I know.
I'm thankful for learning we no longer need to spend 3+ hours watching games anymore when we can just check out the stats to see all there is to know.
I'm thankful for the early push that gave me legitimate hope...yes this teams playoff chances basically died on the carpet of the RCA dome, but for a split second?? We were the talk of the league.
I am grateful that my favorite football team being pretty ****ty is probably the worst problem I have. Things could be a lot worse. I'm also grateful that unless Stephen Ross is a bigger boob than I think, us Dolphin fans are likely to only have to suffer one more miserable season with the soulless ginger as general manager. Happy New Years, BPK!
This. Without a coach and QB you have nothing. I think we have both now. Tremendous job by this group achieving the most from their talent level...and yes I think this is the most you could have gotten from this group. You were going to lose a game two you shouldnt have and win 1-2 you shouldnt have just based on the way this team is configured which is long on effort and just a little short on talent. Im also thankful the bannings and infractions were minimal though theres still room for improvement. I'd be even more thankful if ya'll would stop cursing and attacking each other. This isnt life and death. Its a message board; albeit the best one out there
I'm thankful for the admirable job the mods have done this year...... though there's still room for much improvement.
Thankful for Cameron wake still being awesome after getting paid. Seems rare with these pass rushers today
Now BK, you ain't gonna go ahead and disappear all offseason like you usually do, I know you've been scoutin some college players and all.. I'm grateful for this site and a lot of its members...we're gonna be here til we die, hopefully we can respect our different points of view, and find humor in all of us.
I'm grateful for a lot of things in life, so I will keep this focused on the Phins. I'm grateful for a good albeit not great season. I think the Phins are pointed in the right direction, and have finally (successfully) addressed the void at QB & HC. Tannehill will get better, and Philbin seems like the kind of no nonsense leader you want for your football team. I think the only thing holding us back is talent at some key positions. I think with a successful draft and FA this team can compete with the elite teams in the league. I hope Philbin and Ireland watch the tape of that game yesterday often and closely, because that is the blueprint. Hate on the Patsies and Brady all you want (as I do), but you gotta respect that organization for what they are, and how they've stayed perennial Super Bowl contenders for the last decade. Ultimately, it all comes down to the personnel decisions that are made over the next 6-8 months. So, we shall see.
I'm grateful for all of you....for this big dysfunctional family we call a forum. May not post much but I see and read everything - for Celt and Muck and all they do to keep this boat afloat. - For Boik for keeping us in line. - for Philbin and (even though he looks like him) not coaching like Larry Coker. - ror Mike Pouncey - for the hope of a great free agency and draft Especially grateful for: the Jets being in worse shape than us and having to see the smirk on Rex Ryan's face turn into a frown. God bless all of you and your families for the New Year and may God bring us what we need and not always what we want.
I'm thankfull for the rookie QB that should shine soon. Knowing we have 5 picks in the first 100 of the upcoming draft for Ireland to show what he can do or can't do, and not looking at starting from scratch with a complete overhaul of coaches. Must add having all the different opinions smart, dumb, right, or wrong but in general a whole lot of friends here who are all after the same thing a winning season.
Amen to that brother!!! And don't worry, you're our most affable jailer... Like Sgt Schultz of Hogan's Heroes.
