Ok, I'm not looking back anymore, I just wonder how he feels when he watches Russell Wilson..RG..and CKap.. Well, his first job is he has about 35 % of the starting roster unsigned.
Not hard to have seen this coming. Firing him this offseason rather than last wouldn't make any sense.
The Dolphins just had their 4th consecutive losing season, for the first time since their 1st 4 years. SO of course...let's celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and have people on this board defend it as a good move as well. In my next life, I want to come back as Jeff Ireland.
His record as GM doesn't matter. It only matters that the people who've defended him are justified because he didn't get fired.
All that really matters is the opinion of those with the appropriate information to make an informed decision.
Enjoy the mediocrity. It will be interesting to see if the celebrations continue after another failed free agency followed by another mediocre to poor draft of "character" players who lack playmaking ability. You wanted him, you got him. He'll continue destroying this franchise from the inside out.
Provided those people are capable of making such a decision. If we're referring to Ross, he hasn't shown us he's capable IMO.
Yes he needs to prove himself to all those geniuses that revolted when we didn't trade for Kyle Orton.
No, he needs to prove he can field a team capable of finishing with a winning record. Then we'll go from there.
I know I'd feel a whole lot better if we had no future at QB but 2 more wins. That'd make everything rosey.
Too much to ask for both, I suppose. Not really unrealistic, given that 3 other teams did it this year.
Well if 3 other teams did it it must be easy. Clearly those 3 other teams also had all the amazing talent Tannehill did on offense too didn't they? They must of.
The great thing about this is that either way you slice it, it reflects poorly on Ireland. Either the QB Ireland acquired didn't perform well, or the talent around the QB didn't perform well, or both.
And whose fault is it that Tannehill was playing with sh*t around him? Oh right its all Parcells fault.
Why Ireland's of course. Idk why he couldn't rebuild an entire offense in one offseason. I'd of had it done in Madden in like 15 mins.
The offense around Tannehill wasn't any worse than what was around Luck. The Colts' offensive line was garbage. Their RBs were garbage. They basically had Reggie Wayne and TY Hilton. Either way, the Colts' offense wasn't any more efficient/better than Miami's.
Really he's not being retained. They are just taking their time in firing him. It will likely happen within the next 8784 hours. They are just delaying the inevitable a bit in order to exacerbate every ounce of pain and record low attendance figures. It will soon go the way of the inevitable A.J. Smith type-firing which fans of SD would say is about 1-3 years late.
BTW, Indy and Washington both built up around 50% of their offenses in this offseason. So yeah, you can rebuild an offense in one offseason. Not that I was making that point since Ireland has been here for much longer than that.
Or, and this might sound crazy but stay with me, he drafted a rookie QB who actually had an up and down season in his first year starting. Sounds crazy I know. Actually the talent he acquired did perform well. Trading 6th round picks for another 1k season from Bush and Lamar Miller looks good. Martin looks like a decent replacement for Long. Only miss so far was Egnew, but it's not like rookie TEs light the world on fire. Can't fix it all in one offseason. It's just too bad we aren't in great position to finish off the offense this offseason. Oh wait..
