My guess would be the same one that beats his mom? Or the one who everyone at the combine speculates has a prostitute for a mother?
I dunno man, watching him on Hard Knocks showed me all I had to see to know he was a bust. The guy just didnt receive coaching well, constantly hanging his head down.
I guess. I mean, in your analogy, if myself and someone else were collaborating, and I'd done my homework on the Dolphins and identified WR as a need, and the other guy came to me and said that they didn't view any WR's in the 2012 draft as upgrades, I'd have to disagree. Then, if that same person suggested we draft Egnew in the 3rd round OVER a guy like TY Hilton, then he and I would have to have a serious discussion about our philosophy. (And I'm not just saying that in hindsight, either. I hated the Egnew pick even more than I hated the Daniel Thomas pick. And that's saying something) I think Joe Philbin, from what I've seen, is a pretty well-prepared guy. I think he watched film of this team when he got here and understood how and where they needed to get better, and also which types of players he wanted. So in the end, you still Ireland as ultimately responsible for making those picks, even if Philbin gives his input. That's what scares me.
Lol Ross is so clueless it's embarrassing having him as an owner. Worst 4 year stretch since the franchise's first 4 years of existence over 40 years ago. The rest of the division is popping bottles as we speak, unlike us they fired the men that weren't getting the job done and can now look to improve. what a ****ing joke this franchise has become, all the way from the top down.
I wonder how much better Tannehill would have looked with a playmaker like T.Y. Hilton. Too bad Jeff did not get a chance to scout Hilton. Hey! Hilton's school was wayy too far away!!
I get this feeling that Ireland looks at a sheet of paper and selects prospects based on physical attributes. IE the 2 WR's he drafted 6 foot tall big guys, or clyde gates speed. I dunno just a feeling lol. I HATE IRELAND
It's apparent that Ireland has been moving pieces around for this offseason in particular and has sold it to Ross as absolutely fundamental to the master plan. Too bad any thinking person can do the math for themselves and determine there is only enough cap room for basically one major free agent. Two if we let Jake Long waltz out of town without compensation.
I'm all for making fun of Ireland for his mistakes, but when are we going to let the whole Dez Bryant/mother is a whore thing go? I mean seriously, it's been reported a billion times that the whole conversation was taken out of context.
That is one thing I'll support Ireland on. The thing was blown out of proportion and, in Ireland's defense, it appears Dez's Mom is not exactly Mother of the Year and her son, while a good playmaker with a ton of potential appears to be teetering on the edge of a meltdown.
You mean the same division where one team (the Bills) just fired their ENTIRE coaching staff and have no hope at quarterback and another (the Jets) who fired their GM and have no hope at quarterback? I'd rather be us than either of them.
That story will NEVER go away, as long as there is a NFL scouting combine. That story is going to live on, was it said out of context? Who knows, unless you where in the room? But it seems Dez was pretty damn upset about it afterwards. I do not know why? In some cultures calling a person mother a whore is a considered a complament or sign of friendship.
different player. Coffman's physical ability is what held him back. Guy couldn't separate in the NFL.
Well, I am disappointed, but not at all surprised. Not sure what Ross sees in him, but he must see something. If Ireland was a cat, I think he'd be on one of his last lives though. My guess is it's either produce a winner in 2013 (and, I mean a playoff team as a minimum) or he's gone this time next year.
Arguments on the Dolphins offense being as good as the Colts... Some of you will find one meaningless stat and ignore the most important stat POINTS. You guys are constantly reaching. That being said I now am 100% behind Ireland, hoping he rights the ship and uses this Xmas-like offseason to build around Tannehill. He is coming back so no need to do anything besides get behind him.
why would we fire Philbin? This was his first year, no one is that knee jerk unless there's an ownership change or the team wins 1 game or zero games...not to mention the reports out there that Philbin was our owner's hand picked selection as HC. Ireland is the one who's cheated death 3 offseasons in a row. whats funny is the other GMs being fired today have all experienced greater success than Ireland ever has, Rod Graves team was in the Super Bowl and if it wasn't for Holmes making one of the greatest, most clutch catches in SB history, his franchise would have a ring. Tannebaum went to back to back AFC championship games, AJ Smith has won playoff games, Marty Hurney won 11 games twice in his first 4 years as GM with Carolina.
Ireland will probably return but I'm not going to take Salguero's word for it. He is reporting his opinion as fact, as he often does.
The only time he got to see Wilson this year was when Tannehill beat him, so I'm guessing he feels pretty good about our QB. Deej, WADR my friend, why do you keep comparing Tanny to RG3, Wilson, and CKap as if they were realistic options we massively whiffed on? 1. No one drafted Kappy in the 1st round, not even San Fran, but unlike San Fran, we didn't have a 2nd rounder to move up for him and there was no way we or any team were drafting him in the top 15. Kappy would've cost us our 3rd AND 2012's 1st. That would've been completely insane at the time. (and this is coming from a person who really liked Kappy if you recall. I believe I even said I'd prefer him Cam Newton) I'm sorry but I think complaining about us not getting Kappy when we have Tannehill is hypercritical. 2. Why do you assume we could've so easily traded up for RG3 when Washington not only wanted him badly but presented a more favorable draft spot at #6 to trade back to than us at 8 considering there were 6 elite prospects (Luck, RG3, Richardson, Kalil, Blackmon, Claiborne)? Honestly, it would've logically made zero sense for St Louis to trade back to 8 instead of 6 and cost themselves either one of the top 6 guys or another chance at a trade back........ and trading back is exactly what they did b/c Dallas wanted into that 6th spot for Claiborne, and the Rams netted a 2nd rounder from it. So by dealing with Washington, the Rams ended up netting 2 extra 1sts and 2 extra 2nds. 3. We needed a QB this draft, and Tannehill had/has obvious talent. If you're criticizing us for not taking Wilson at #8 b/c you would've actually pulled that string, then kudos to you for having the sack that 32 NFL teams didn't, not once but twice (with "twice" being passed over in the 2nd round, too). Wilson turned out to be an outstanding surprise, but obviously no team approached the draft confidently believing he was a franchise QB worth hedging the team's future on at the cost of a high draft pick, not even Seattle who not only didn't draft him in the first 2 rounds but didn't trade up to ensure getting him in the 3rd. When you draft a QB #8 like we did with Tannehill, he instantly becomes your QB of the future, so there's no reason to turn around and draft another QB two picks later atop the 3rd round, or else you don't draft the QB in the 1st round to begin with. Be happy we at least have Tannehill b/c it could be a lot worse. It could be the 2013 draft where no one is on Tanny's level IMO, and we'd all be praying Tannehill isn't drafted #1 overall so that we'd have a chance to trade up for him.
Ahh, so the "knee jerk" stuff only applies to a person's first year at his position, but a guy in his 2nd year at his new position is no longer knee jerk?
