http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/53390/more-evidence-of-greg-jennings-to-miami Do this. Get this done. There is no reason to not pursue Greg Jennings. He's not 40. He's 29 and only going into his 8th season. By comparison, Reggie Wayne is producing at a high level still and has played 101 more games than Jennings. Which is more games than Jennings has played in his career. Greg is good for the team schematically. I'm more inclined to trade Bess if we sign him, re-sign Hartline and draft another receiver. I'd like to see what Binns, Matthews, and Fuller show in camp and potentially add a new WR depending on how they perform.
his sister needs to learn to shut up. Only a matter of time until she bashes Miami if we do sign Jennings
I think it seems like it's a pretty cut and dry likelihood, but then again Matt Flynn looked the same way. If Greg Jennings wants to go somewhere that he's going to be a cut and dry #1 target, it's probably not Miami. If he doesn't like the Packers emphasis on spreading the ball around, I don't think that is all that likely to change here.
He has already said he'd like to stay in GB. His issue is that he wants to be paid. He isn't bothered by the targets.
"Take your talents to South Beach" has become a metaphor for "I'm leaving as a FA ala Lebron James" Rumor mill merde' imo
Have to take everything with a grain of salt. Reports close to this are surfacing in St. Louis that Jennings has stated he wants to play for a team that is in a Dome. So, when or if it happens thats when it happens. If people listened to everything my sister said we would all be crazy people.
Maybe I'm confused, I thought one of his sisters comments was along the lines of them not throwing him the ball enough. Does this bother anyone else? The Heat don't play in South Beach. You might as well say you're taking your talents to Overtown.
People not familiar with Florida are under the assumption South Beach is all of Miami. Like I said, if people take what my sister said thru life they would be wearing straight jackets and goosing butterflys by now.
Which is good for....21st in the league. Note Bess and Hartline stayed almost exactly equal through the year until Bess' injury. The Packers generally have ended up with very similar distributions.
I remember being taken there as a kid to see Disney on Ice a couple of times and having to do the hundred meter bum hurdle.
Sect, we were down to Hartline by the end of the year, even Bess was out. Who else was going to get the ball? Binns?
His targets were pretty consistent towards the end of the season with when Bess was around. It was probably as much to do with him playing hurt as anything given the circumstances. They've been willing to have one guy get relatively heavy workloads(but nothing close to what true workhorses get), but it's pretty clear they will work hard on distributing among players.
It was more in reference to them being skiddish about paying him. She was saying that the team would be foolish to not pay him as he's a playmaker. Makes me think he privately spoke ill of GB management.
no offense to the Miami-ans here, but people not familiar with Florida don't really care whether that assumption is correct or not. if it's easy to say and understand, it's good for the outsiders. besides, it makes Miami sound more glamorous that it's surrounded by South Beach, even when it isn't Regardless, I want Jennings here. I can see him slighted because of the depth chart in Green Bay and coming here with and attitude, out to prove Green Bay was wrong in not highlighting him more, ala, Reggie Bush leaving New Orleans.
i just hope that we dont have another offseason of free agent snubs i am still ticked off about the rumblings of players not wanting to come here .
The only problem with Brian Hartline is his lack of touchdowns. Other than that, he is very valuable. His hands are great, his footwork is great, he moves the chains, he draws penalties and he has good chemistry with Tannehill.
Hartline is an artist on the sideline and better be a priority to get resigned. He's simply isn't the guy.
Yup get this done and resign Hartline. I actually saw Hartline on New Years at Fountain Bleu and had a conversation with him about his stay here and how I hope we resign him this offseason. He was an extremely nice guy, introduced me to his girlfriend and everything. Seemed really appreciated that someone noticed him and wished him the best, said he thinks Tannehill's the real deal too lol.
Love to see the reunion of Philbin and Jennings, sure his sister got the inside scoop on what her brother is thinking.
I agree here and remain optimistic that GB won't be resigning him. With the emergence of Cobb and Jones and existence of Nelson, I think GB sees has as expendable and not worth the contract he will be looking for. Miami is his next logical choice, and may even take a pay cut to reunite with Philbin.
My guess is that the Fins won't sign Jennings. I think we'll show interest in the $5-6 million per year range and he'll be expecting $8-10 million. I think Philbin considers receivers fairly interchangeable and wants to spread the ball around anyhow, which makes $8-10 million per year a lot to pay. Just my guess/opinion.
By injury prone you mean has only suffered one major injury in his career and it was a freak injury he suffered this season which was surgically repaired allowing him to end the season with 120 yards and 2 TD's in the finale? I agree if that's what you meant.
It's not Philbin's decision, though, it's Ireland's, and he is very much in a position where he needs to make a big impact on 2013. Considering he sort of walked back his commentary on free agents it is pretty clear who is going to win out on that one.
