Found this on youtube. Very well done. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eZna1QV9MEI
Props man. Nice video. Wonder what the correlation of likes you will get compared to views on the video, based on Tannehill's season QBR? JK Shou. Like your work, don't necessarily agree with all of it, but nonetheless, appreciate the work.
Actually I developed a model for predicting box office numbers, so I could wager on Intrade, and number of views of the trailer online was one of the inputs I used
He really impressed me with some of his throws, especially on the run. He actually exceeded my expectations, although they weren't really that high to begin with, not so much because of me doubting his abilities but more-so because of all the limited talent around him.
It was placed over the wrong shoulder so he had to jump and spin for it. I mean it would have been awesome if he could have made the catch but it's not like he just fell while catching a perfectly thrown over his shoulder.
If this theory of purposely designing and instructing the Qb to operate from the pocket in a prof game is indeed true, in any sense, it better work...I sure as hell don't understand the theory myself when you have some damn good athletic traits on your prospect.. Here's the thing, if your believing the theory has merit, your basically saying they weren't playing to win...Because, with that athletic ability, and in one facet, an extraordinary trait, which is his ability to throw the ball while moving left.He has very unique ability to turn his torso and square to his target even though he's running hard left/with accuracy..and we all know he's deadly going to his right, we've also seen how fast he is with his strait ahead speed, when he takes off up the middle, he's always splitting fools and making em look silly, all that right there, is three directions to attack the defense, design a gameplan, and take full advantage of the skillset.. I don't know this, but I would bet that the games where he either engaged his running or was schemed to do so, we won , and he played well.. I know a lot folks don't want to get their Qb hurt, well, if you can show me how this theory might have great benefits for the future of the player while sacrificing the present, I'm all ears. I'm not a coach, but I would have this kid, and my offense, on the move, a hell of a lot more then what we saw this year.
Well, in the video, you see him moving around quite a bit early on against the Raiders and Jets. I wonder how much that knee injury limited him, because you don't really see it against the Colts, Titans, Bills (3 games immediately after the injury) and then you see it pop up again in the Seattle game. I think they kept the reins on Tannehill, but moving him in/outside of the pocket just doesn't really wash for me; other than how limited he was the 3 games right after the knee injury. I think they did more of it as the season went on, but the OL also got worse as the season went on, and especially after Jake Long got hurt. Seems to me that the theory doesn't really add up circumstantially.
I truly believe once Garrard got hurt, the priorities changed for the team. Every team starts the year with the SB as their #1 goal. I think that became goal #2 this year and goal #1 was get Tannehill ready. That doesn't mean they tanked it or anything, it means things like not overloading Tannehill was the goal. Most teams do that with a rook, the difference is they generally have to do it by simplifying the playbook. With Tanny, the playbook wasn't an issue obviously, but he like most rooks needed time to adjust to the speed and be a QB since his time was limited in college. In some ways, I can see an argument that knowing the playbook already hurt us record wise, because w if he didn't know it already, they may have simplified things him considerably more and that might have changed the course of the games. Probably not with our receiving talent, but maybe. Personally, I see this whole past season as a "preseason" for next year. Always did.
man and this will not be here for the next 8 months....sad....is he the most dangerous white QB on the run ? can´t think of another who really has that gear to him, you could really say he is.....fast
Tannehill has a lot of things you can look at and be impressed if you just keep reminding yourself that he is a rookie with limited starts in college. He made mistakes. but they were correctable mistakes. I saw a young quarterback who is very quick on his feet and can throw very accurately on the run in either direction. A lot of mobile quarterbacks who are good passing quarterbacks can throw to their dominate side but not as much to their weaker side. Tannehill can do it to either side and is both strong and pretty accurate back across his body. I think he is learning pretty well not to lock on his receivers and can read the field well for a rookie. He has a lot of growing left to do but its going to be fun to watch on the way. He has a strong arm and he is tall in the pocket and he seems to be very durable and he is smart. Man it would really be great to forget about the "Suck For Luck", or the "Should have drafted Matt Ryan instead of Jake Long", or the "Should have traded up for RGIII", or the most worn out phrase of, "We missed out on Drew Brees". I have done my share of these but it would still be nice to put them all behind us.
