Not very pretty stuff from the inside on Inactive Egnew.

I'll refrain from commenting on the guy who thought Egnew was a better pick than T.Y. Hilton and simply leave you with this nugget.

Is it a coincidence that this can be revealed now that Ireland feels secure in his job.

This board reading a normal Armando report: ARMANDO KNOW NOTHING.

This board reading an Armando report that makes Jeff Ireland look bad: ARMANDO HOW WISE YOU ARE OH INSIDE SOURCE.

Armando is garbage when creating stories out of his own opinions. He's quoting other people here. I may think that Omar Kelly is the biggest idiot on the planet (and he's close), but if he quotes someone, he's quoting someone.

Oddly enough, for whatever reason Mizzou Te's just seem to bust

    -Rucker
    -Coffman

Now maybe Egnew, he should take this as a major league wake up call.

If GMs continue to pick players who don't show work ethic and intelligence in the gym, their stupid..The mans body was underdeveloped, not something you could really see in college, starting seeing it when preseason started.I mean if your a Mackey award winner, and you know your gonna get drafted, and you don't take your craft off the field incredibly serious, your stupid, or ignorant, which goes for the people you surround yourself with..

Better get your sh&$ together son..you gonna blow taking care of yourself and your family for life, by playing a game..
Bad GM'n IF it doesn't work out...there was a considerable drop off from Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener, Ireland took the low road..that's not a good sign..

stop acting so intentionally ignorant, at least I hope it's intentional. Having occasional players bust doesn't change the fact that many to most players new to the league, especially if playing a different position than college, need time to develop.

I don't think that mattered to Parcells, because I think Parcells ego made him believe other people's personality issues could be overcome by his own greatness as a coach and presence.

I think Ireland needed a full year with Philbin to understand what Philbin wants in a player and get rid of the last vestiges of Parcells stank off of his drafting tendencies. I'm going to guess there won't be a disciplinary problem in this offseason's draft or FA period.

Ofcourse players need time to develop, but the ignorance lies at the people who think being inactive the majority of the season isn't an indicator.

Definitely concerning, but does anyone else remember reading something similar about Reshad Jones a couple years ago during his rookie training camp? I remember an anonymous quote from a teammate blasting the guy, saying he wouldn't ammount to anything. I'd say he turned out alright.

    Wrong. There's still no correlation.
"indicator" is the wrong choice of word BTW. If you and others had instead called it a "concern" rather than a flat out bust, you would've had a valid argument.

He was/is a likely bust. Not playing AT ALL your rookie year speaks volumes. You just refused to hear it. Till now.

we hear stuff like this about every player at one point or another. If tanny hits a slump people will be on here calling him a bust. The sad part is people don't remember it or refuse to and swear up and down this time its different.

This is true. And it's equally true for Ireland supporters when they read any article by a media person they usually despise that makes Ireland look good. Basic human nature.

As for Egnew, It's not fair to bash Ireland for every pick that doesn't pan out considering the average success rate of draft picks especially those past round 2. But when you've got a 3rd round player who is so ineffective and ill prepared that he doesn't even make it onto the field for a regular season game (save for the last 2 games), that's a clear cut failure in talent evaluation.

Factoring in the production that was given away in part for that pick, the pill is even harder to swallow.

Again, NOT A CORRELATION; hence no reason to listen to it.
However, players coming forth and talking about him does have some merit, but that didn't happen TILL NOW.

Pretty daming article. I wonder what he did to his teammates to get thrown under the bus like that. Most times players just give standard responses when asked about teammates; "He's young, raw talent, works hard developing blah blah blah.." He must of pissed someone off.

If true, Finley has to be in play. I think he will have a big chip on his shoulders with how things are looking like they might end in Green Bay.

I don't recall that, but there's a big difference from it coming in a rookie training camp and after the season. Jones saw the field and at least got an INT during his rookie year.

Perhaps, but now when he said "I know what Jeff Ireland thinks about me" it comes into context.

He probably should have said "I know I have a lot to work hard on to improve".

If that is indeed true, it makes the pick even more damning. I mean, with the combine and all the metrics involved, Ireland should've seen that. Maybe take a chance on him as a late round sleeper (or as a UFA), but not in the third round.

Ah T.Y. Hilton, what could've been...

I said from the start Egnew looks like an abused kid who emotionally hates the violence of contact.

And I think that's what ****ed up his ability to play a violent sport.
