I tend to not believe in the "magic coach" theory, usually what happens is a couple of guys have successes with them and it becomes something of a legend. However, I like what Ryan does, don't think he is right for Miami b/c Coyle made due with sub par Cb's and that is difficult to do, however if he did arrive on our doorstep I would not be displeased. Jerruh..clown.
agreed, he can coach a D, the cowboys were really undermanned in the defensive backfield this year And..notice they did not fire Tony Romo, it's not as if Ryan was throwing int's.
Jerry Jones fired Jimmy Johnson after building a team so good they got Barry Switzer a ring, and there were probably fans of that firing then.
As I recall, he's never coordinated defenses that finished as high statistically as his brother's defenses. This could be due to personnel, or just ability, or a little of both.
I really hope this doesn't happen. Say what you will about Cam as a head coach, he is still a respected OC.
I don't know why they canned him but it would not be the first time a good coordinator was fired. Don't tell me you think Caldwell is an upgrade?
I disagree he should of been able to get more done with the Ravens. He benefited from short fields thanks to their defense and had a very solid offense to work with and still struggled under him. Same can be said to a lesser extent about him in SD. He has had the benefit of being loaded with weapons bvut when he was here and had none he fell on his face. Our offense was putrid under him. He wont fix the Jets, he will be further exposed as being a mediocre to bad OC.
The Caldwell hire is mystifying but Cam got fired because he was costing them games and they were winning the ones they did despite his awful play calling.
The Ravens offense is loaded with talent. Flacco isnt great but he has a great deep ball that he drops on a dime and Ray Rice carries them on the short yardage stuff. Torry Smith and Boldin are both very good and the line is solid. I cant recall the TE but he is solid too IIRC. They have a very good offense
