Matt Moore would love to find a team where he can compete to start and has relayed to the Dolphins that he is going to test the free agent market, barring an incredible offer from Miami. The Dolphins told Moore they want to keep him but have never given him a firm offer. If the Dolphins lose Moore, their free agent backup quarterback options include Jason Campbell, Brady Quinn, Tarvaris Jackson, Drew Stanton, Rex Grossman, Matt Leinart, Charlie Batch, Brian Hoyer and Bruce Gradkowski. Third-stringer Pat Devlin, a favorite of Joe Philbin, also could compete for the No. 2 job if Moore bolts.

Wish we could keep him but who would you prefer as a backup QB.

    I would prefer Devlin IMO.

Devlin as # 2 and draft someone in the 3rd or 4th rounds area. If you are going all in on the turnover of the roster, do it here as well.

I'd love to have Moore back, but I think we all knew that once Tannehill looked competent this year, that Moore was a dinosaur on this team.

Devlin would be my choice based on this list. then draft a qb in rd 4 or 5.

If we use a 3rd or 4th round pick on a QB, I'd be pretty angry.

Devlin is on a cheap contract and we have a lot of holes to fill. With only so much cap room, we still need WR, Pass Rusher, CB & OL. Plus let's see what the kid can do?

I'm a big Jason Campbell fan as a backup. I would ve very pleased if we signed him. On the other hand, I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see us draft a QB in the mid-late rounds as well.

I'd stick with Devlin more or less for cap purposes.

I'm not sure why people are so opposed to drafting a QB? Tannehill is very promising, but his development isnt a certainty. If there is a QB the team likes, IMO they shouldn't hesitate to draft him.

Why draft a QB? If Tanne goes down then I'd love to see what Devlin could do. If Devlin goes down too, then our season is over either way. Pick up a journeyman #3 as a free agent and call it a day.

We should just have Devlin as our #2 quarterback then draft a developmental guy in the late rounds IMO.

Tannehill hasn't proven for sure he is the one. I'd say if there is a promising QB in the third or later, you take him.

I'd let it play out. If Moore doesn't get an offer where he can compete for a starting job (I think he will but ... ) then I try to bring him back. If not I let Devlin take over as the #2 and bring in a late round QB or UDFA to take over Devlin's 2012 role.

Not to meantion those are the guys that come in for a game or two… look great and then get traded for good picks… Pats do it all the time (seems like)

The ONE guy IMO who can revive Quinn's career is Andy Reid, best thing for the bust is to stay in KC.

If Philbin is that high on Devlin then I wouldn't spend anything higher than a 5th on a QB. We have so many holes that need to be filled. (Hehe that's what she said)

I agree. The Skins were smart to draft Cousins after already getting RG3. He won a game for them when RG was hurt.

We will go after a veteran. You certainly don't want to go into a season with your entire QB core having played 15 games.

There is a lot of value to Tannehill's development in having a veteran mentor around.

I'd go with Devlin as well. But would also draft a QB but not anywhere in round 3 - more like round 4-5 as well.

Not sold on Tanny yet, either. He needs to make a big jump next year but we also need to get him the pieces. That's the best way to find out.

Wish we had drafted Russell Wilson (as I noted in a 'draft re-do' before the season began). But, water under the bridge ...

I say move up Devlin and draft a QB in the later rounds. Its time to see what Devlin offers anyway. Wasn't it said that Devlin looked good in practice? Stash the late round QB on the practice squad and move on. Those of us who still have doubts about Tannehill still haven't seen him play with legitimate threats yet. Bush has shown flashes but any success our receivers have had are more attributed to Tannehill's play than any exceptional skills they may have.

I am fine with Devlin if Moore does not stay and we can take one in later rounds.

I'd like to keep Moore but I do think he's better off going someplace like AZ, KC or maybe Philly so he can compete with someone for a starting job. He might accept his lot as a multimillion dollar backup for life though, if he does he's not a bad option for a couple of million a year to have on hand in case Tannehill gets hurt.

  31. I was thinking Ferotte should be on the list as well. I do not know if he was better then Moore but I do think Saban screwed the pooch in letting him go. He was a servicable QB that could run things while developing a QB from the draft.

Chambers could have had 100 catches that year if not for the drops. I think he was good for 5-6 in that huge Buffalo game.

Yeah, that Bills game was pretty epic. A good performance, though I imagine it's sort of expected to catch 15 passes when you're targeted 26 times (BM broke the record with 27 after all). Loved the TD, definitely one of my favorites (DT vs Redskins comes to mind as well).
