Havent seen it yet but in this hansel and gretel... thing ... coming out they keep saying their parents were murdered. Anyone want to bet the obvious plot twist that their mom and/or dad is actually a witch?

I just want to thank all of you for all your movie reviews, I just have been scanning through the last hundred or two pages from time to time and I have seen so many good movie's that I would of never thought of. I'm gonna go see Zero Dark Thirty in the next few days so I let you guys know what I think.

It's an interesting movie in that it was cool to see how the whole Bin Laden kill went down... But I don't know if I think it's great. The fact that he's a real life villain made it exciting. Obviously the guy stirs up so many emotions... Acting was good too. And even though we all know the ending so to speak, it really did work. But I didn't "love it" like so many others did. It's a strong rental, IMO.

Saw Django Unchained earlier today. I recognized so many actors from previous Tarantino films. Christoph Waltz was just as awesome as he was in "Inglorious Basterds," DiCaprio played an awesome bad guy, and Samuel L Jackson was incredible as his House "boy." Don Johnson's character style reminded me a lot of his part as Kenny Powers dad in 'Eastbound & Down.' I would definitely see it again.

    Django Unchained.

Holy ****. I expected a funny, a typical over the top Tarantino movie

    NOPE.

Instead, I got a ridiculously hillariously over the top movie. Went in expecting a good movie, ended up watching a great one. To me, it ranks second only to Pulp Fiction out of his movies.

Zero Dark Thirty 9/10 - Chastain was awesome. Loved her character.

The Raven 6/10 - Love Cusack but the movie was just ok. Alice Eve is fun to look at.

Lars and the Real Girl 8/10 - Gosling is quickly coming one of my favorite actors. Bizarre movie though lol.

Bernie 8/10 - I thought Jack Black was great.

Watched 'Big Fan' on Sundance Channel earlier. It's got Patton Oswalt as one of those guys who still lives in his mom's basement at 36 yrs old and his WHOLE life is his football team, the NY Giants. He was more of a call-in guy to sports radio talk shows than on the internet. It was kinda sad, but after seeing some of the stuff people post about football on message boards over the years, you know guys like that are out there.

Watched the 2010 Piranha remake today. Just cheesy and funny entertainment, which I'm sure is all they were trying to make. So many cameos and actor/actresses that had done bigger things in the past. Ving Rhames, Elisabeth Shue, Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown from "Back to the Future"), a few porn stars and Eli Roth as well. The part in the beginning with Richard Dreyfuss and the nod to his character in the movie "Jaws" was pretty cool, imo.

I saw all the Academy Nominees.

Today (after seeing it in theaters) I rented Zero Dark Thirty and watched it for the second time.

Still loved it (Chastain is incredible and incredibly hot). The last 40 minutes alone are insanely good but loved the whole movement of the film.

I sat (struggled) through the last Texas Chainsaw movie that recently came out. Wow it was bad. As should be no surprise, it went from halfway, "meh" to OMG, WTH is this crap in about 30 minutes. Just TERRIBLE! If anybody you know invites you to watch it, smack them in the face and say, "I own you now."

The Place Beyond The Pines. Really good but a little long and there's a few things they could of done in the last 2 acts to make it a more complete movie.

    Still really good.

King of Thorn - Some excellent animation, and a pretty decent story under some WTF?
Jack Reacher - Haven't read the books, so I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, even though Cruise isn't all that intimidating. Audio was really good.
Harry Brown - Michael Caine doing work.

This Is The End was very good. I imagine if you do smoke, it will make the movie that much better.

As VDF noted, the end is WTF, but I was cracking up.

Saw The Internship - was better than I thought it would be. Not Wedding Crashers funny, but funny.

Star Trek Into Darkness - Good action movie overall, though while Cumberbatch had a good performance, trying to reconcile him as a Sikh/Indian (isn't that what Khan's origin was?) was odd. Great fun overall though, visually very impressive, as you want a Star Trek movie to be.

    Redboxing:
Django - Great stuff. Typical Tarantino, if you like him you will like Django. Glad they did not get Will Smith though, Fox was better suited to me. Good acting all around (except Tarantinos bit haha), just well done in general.
Oz the Great and Powerful - Very underwhelming. Poor acting (especially from Kunis and Wiesz), plot was bad and predictable. I expected way more.
Jack Reacher - Fun, typical Tom Cruise as hero stock. Nothing special, but always a good time.
Hansel and Gretel - One of those "so bad it is funny" movies fortunately. Was afraid it would just be straight terrible, but the ridiculousness of much of it made it watchable in a funny way - like a diabetic witch hunter who witches forced to eat to much candy as a kid.

I have never experienced the feeling of my mind exploding with that scene in the end when they
    Wake up on the plane
Also, I saw this online, re-watched the movie keeping this in mind...and It's true.

    Busy movie week:

Man of Steel. I actually liked it a little better than Star Trek, but really more of a toss-up.

Also saw Monsters University. It was OK, but a big dropoff from the original.

watched Burt Wonderstone this weekend too. Amusing, but not great.

Hansel and Gretel: reminded me of Jackman in VanHelsing. really bad movie, but still had to watch it. that troll was so lame.

I'm a little surprised that nobody has done a review for World War Z. I saw it last weekend. I'm a big fan of zombie movies and of course the Walking Dead. So with that in mind, I did enjoy WWZ. It wasn't the greatest zombie movie that I've seen. I prefer 28 Days Later and 2004 version of the Dawn of the Dead. And this movie in contrast had much better visual effects, the action from beginning to end was superb. But with a higher budget comes higher expectations (for me at least). I'd still give it a thumbs up, 4.5 out of 5, 9 out of 10 and all that. Just a bit disappointed with the story. And i won't say anymore because I don't want to give anything away. Still, if you're a fan of zombie movies, you'll like this no doubt.

    This.
I don't even really consider it a "zombie" movie, because it's not centered about that. The movie was about Brat Pitt finding a cure to the "disease" He killed, what? Maybe 5-8 zombies through the entire movie?

It was still action packed and great, I enjoyed it.
