That seems to be the case. But how or why did they have to kill the character (if Te'o was in on it) given that his grandmother died too, as that would have been legend enough for most people I think. Letting her fade away slowly from that point would have been an easy out.
Perhaps grandmother dying is what gave them the idea to kill off the girlfriend. After spending so much time building up this fictitious character, giving her life, I don't think they could ditch her w/o giving her a proper send-off. After all, they weren't "breaking up with her" as she was never perceived as a truly fictitious girlfriend, but rather instead they were killing off her character, so why not actually "kill her off"? I'm not sure the "easy way out" is relevant to them considering the painstaking expense exhausted in developing and maintaining this fake relationship.
The whole story is weird. I don't think Teo was in on it, but why would anyone have a girlfriend they never meet. Makes the story not as sad if she was real because they never met. Sorry if that sounds mean or dickish, but how do you know of she is who she says she is, and if I found out that they never met before this story came out, and all tho happened, I would have called BS from the beginning. Did he not attends her funera? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The funeral was supposedly the same day as the Michigan game I believe, so no he didn't go (if the first part of my sentence is right). As to the why would anyone have a girlfriend they never met? People find relationships in strange places, and sometimes those relationships can evolve to be more than ever intended (maybe he did intend to meet her at some point). I have a great-aunt "in a relationship" with a guy according to my grandfather despite them having never met, though he is sure the guy is just a con artist. Similarly I had friends on here (well finheaven first) whom I considered as close as some of the friends I saw almost daily, before I ever met them in person.
He said they met before, obviously they didn't. Idk who or what to believe. Weird situation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
how convenient yes, but no excuse for not live-chatting or meeting sometime during those 3 years, if anything for peace of mind, especially when she supposedly attended Stanford and he played games at Stanford twice and USC once during this period. Plus she was supposedly on the brink of death after a car accident and then discovers she has leukemia and he still doesn't visit her? ..... and the doctors discovered the leukemia in June but by the summer she seems all better? <cough cough> bull****. ..... and if this line isn't the biggest croc of contrived, dramatic crap fit for a stupid Zac Efron role, I'd like to know what is.
So bizarre. This is just a guess but I have a feeling he's gay. He made up a girlfriend as a cover-up so no one would get suspicious. This is going to get more interesting.
My grandmother died like three times in college...True story. Thank God I never took steroids, right Lance?
Story gets even more bizarre as today goes on. Has he cleared up the discrepencies in his story ? Because there are quite a few of them.
