He just wasn't very efficient. He made a lot of mistakes. He didn't make enough plays. I thought Russell Wilson by the end of the season was performing at an ELITE level for a quarterback, including and especially in the playoffs which is just freakish. That doesn't mean he's already an elite quarterback because being one of those is about consistency year to year...but Wilson was much more efficient while also making more big plays with his own ability, not just operating the offense but adding to it.
I have heard some people say it is only a matter of time before defenses figure out how to stop it, but if a team has a quality QB (Kaepernick, Wilson, etc...) there isn't a defense that is going to be able to stop it. It is like saying it is only matter of time before defenses figure out how to stop the shotgun. Or it is only a matter of time before teams figure out how to stop Adrian Peterson. This offense creates both angles and numbers problems for the defense. If the defense brings extra players in the box to try and stop the run they will leave themselves vulnerable to to the pass. The difference between Newton, Kaepernick, Wilson from most running QBs of the past is these guys can all be top 10 QBs as pocket passers. Particularly Kaepernick and Wilson. They are both so accurate.
You and most of the NFL who passed on him 2+ times each..... and me, too. I loved Wilson but couldn't be the first one to take a sub six foot QB that high or prioritize him over Tannehill if Tanny is staring me in the face in round 1. I wonder if we passed on Tannehill if Seattle would've taken him at 12 and then we would've grabbed Wilson later on.
I just wanna once reach through the screen and yank the heck outta one of those things. ...... and I'm sure this'll somehow be taken out of context.
I think many forms are still coming Taz..when you have a Qb who can run and throw equally well, endless deception can come of it.
