I saw the top 10 finalists in the Herald's Contest. All of them are equally awful. I mean really AWFUL.

Maybe it also show's just how ****ing hard it is to make a logo. When the "supposed logo" leaked people everywhere were *****ing about how they could make a better logo. When given the opportunity they failed. So now maybe they should all shut it (not referring to you specifically) about the logo. Also I think they started with a bunch and then voted them down. That also shows how terrible the taste of our fans is.

I just want it over with at this point. I think it's a plan. They keep showing us logo's that are aweful for months. Then when they show us the new one, we will be happy because it was better then all the others they have killed us with.

I like the fifth one where the Dolphin looks to be resting peacefully as if in a hammock inside the letter D. Watching casually at the others playing the game of football and smiling to itself about how relaxing this all is and if on,y he had some lemonade.

If that doesn't embody this franchise of the past 20 years, then I don't know what does.

How is the butthole logo in 2nd is beyond me. This team would look hideous if fans created our look.

Ill trust the guy Miami hired to get the job done. It will be better then 90% of the mock ups ive seen

I agree. I like the leaked one better than any of the other logos I've seen. There's a few where I could say that if they changed this or that I might like it, but none that I like as much as they are. I also think the team would be wise to ignore the fans here and just go with whomever they paid. Fans will complain regardless and claim they could do better, but I've yet to see anything that backs that up.

I like the shield idea (Jags have one and I never paid attention to it till now, but I think I saw it on the Raven's jersey shoulders). The shield above is an interesting idea, though I don't like it. Maybe it doesn't HAVE to have a dolphin in it, ya know.

Some of you keep wanting this lesson in the difficulty in producing a great logo design/identity creation for an organization as an argument to settle for the original bad logo revision.

I'd offer all the revision options are the best argument of all to support that our current logo "looks like royalty" compared to all of them.

Which leads right back into the argument of why you don't change the identity or tradition of a team simply to quell a minority in the fan base that want's change just for the sake of change. That sect will always exist no matter what logo you have. IMO this whole project is just another highlight of weakness in leadership.

As for the "leaked logo" looking better now compared to the rest these amateur designers have come up with....
The leaked logo is still a turd.
Just because someone follows a turd with a bunch of runny turds (worse turds) does not change the fact that the "leaked logo" is a turd.

People keep using this argument falsely.

The logo was a modernization of the exact same logo.
I'll say it again, a modernization of. the . exact. same . logo.

ok, so the logo was changed (it's obviously not the same logo), and the tradition/identity did not change, or did it?

or, removing the helmet, changing the direction of the tail is enough, in your opinion, to change the tradition/identity of the Dolphins?

Cannot believe I have to have this discussion.
It is the exact same logo concept and it's clear as day.

Its a Dolphin in the exact same pose, with a football helmet, jumping through a sun/ring of fire.

They changed minor elements of the SAME LOGO in an effort to modernize it.

It was not a logo change or identity redesign which is what is on the table now.
This project will in fact be the first time the traditional symbol of the Miami Dolphins has been changed into a different concept.

You may want change and I get that certain people will want that but you can't start using incorrect arguments to support what you want just because.

Not gonna answer, are ya? Nothing about removing the helmet or changing the tail will alter the tradition nor the identity of the Miami Dolphins. Stop with the spooky threats.

This is the correct one. We changed the position of the dolphin and lightened the colors in just the second year. Switched back in 1970, proceeded to go on an un-precendented dynasty run. Than we cursed ourselves by switching back.

at least the Dolphin isn't a pastel color with a feather sticking out his mouth. remove the helmet and have a bouquet of flowers flying out his spout, now that would be some identity change for ya.

I also prefer the leaked one over our current logo and any of the past iterations. That original one was poorly done to begin with. I see no logic in continuing it either. IMO, if there was no tradition and you didn't have the 'people are resistant to change' factor. If this was a new franchise and the options presented were the leaked logo and any of the iterations of our current logo, the leaked one would win by a large margin.

The point though is that change has precedent. The team look is very different than it was in the 60s.

Imo, whatever change they make will fit right along side the others. I don't think the concept will be radically different. But does the dolphin really need to wear a helmet? Is this critical to the team identity?

    No.
But I do feel like it needs to stay in the classic pose.
I've said all along that leaked logo would be fine if they just put the dolphins in the proper pose.

I really like the blue colored aqua from 67 and 74. Really hope that becomes part of the change with our new logo. It's so much more aesthetic than green and balances really well with the orange.

Why can't we just wear the helmet that the Dolphin has on as our on the field helmet again?

The Dolphin definitely needs work, but the shield is cool.

Give it an eye and a little more detail(and color, preferably grey) it's not half bad.

Literally anything is better than that first leaked seaworld Dolphin being humped pose though. I can't believe so many people are defending that atrocity.

Lot of problems with Miami, but I do kinda like the sun sleeves... Probably wont look as good in real use though

Steelers helmet is great in these as are the numbers on the jerseys. I also like the Patriots jerseys. I wish the Jets would move to that horrid color scheme.

The Ravens ones are pretty good too.

Dolphins colors are too close to the U in this one.

That's a good thing, considering the U has the most aesthetic uniforms in football. We should steal their number design too.

Really love the use of orange. For a secondary color, it's never highlighted like it should be. Pictures 1 and 3 are perfect home and away. Although the number design needs work on all of them. Seriously ugly. And they need to get that gay logo out of there.
