    Deja vu.

Anyway, if the pay Hartline the big bucks it's because they expect him to keep developing. If he can work on staying on his feet this offseason he can be pretty damn good. He always seems to get open. He's a quick guy, just not a burner.

What's interesting about Hartline is his intelligence in the film room, his ability to set up players like chess, his hands, and is cool swagger, but his physical weaknesses drop him out of that 7 mill range imo.

I think he can make strides in the strength department. Remember last summer he had that horrible injury that caused him to miss crucial time with the team. I don't think he will ever be a Dwayne Bowe, but he could be a bigger receiver if he chooses to do so.

Based on this criteria, it has to be Shannon Sharpe's mom, right?

And Shannon Sharpe was a tight end... so she had to be a bit bigger, I figured.

To answer my own awesome query, I think that in the NFL, the former receiver with the hottest Mom is probably Jerry Rice. He just wins at everything. The current receiver I'd put my money on is David Nelson of the Bills.. because his current gf is smoking and I'd hope he went after someone who was similar to Mom.

Shannon Sharpe was raised by his grandma who sacrificed her life to make sure those kids had food on the table even not eating herself to make sure they did. The mom was non existent.

Joking is all fun and games but attacking that peticular situation IMO is pretty classless.

Domenik Hixon is 28, he'll probably only cost around 2-2.5 mil. Manningham was younger (25) and more accomplished when he was heading into free agency last offseason and he only got a 2 yr, 7 mil deal from SF.

    so...

option A: spend 16-17 mil total (of the cap) for Wallace & Hartline

option B: spend 15 mil total for Jennings & Hartline

option C: spend 12 mil total for Wallace & Domenik Hixon

option D: spend 10 mil total for Jennings and Hixon

options C and D look a lot more intriguing to me than options A or B, with the money we save we can sign a Dustin Keller/Jared Cook or a CB or a pass rusher.

and also why in the hell would you sign Hartline to a 6-7 mil/yr when for an extra mil you can sign a much better WR in Jennings? I mean am I missing something here?

I think I agree with most people here. Bring Hartline back, but it should be reasonable. What is reasonable? No idea I don't write the checks. One thing that shouldn't be overlooked with Hartline is how well he paired with Tannehill last year. RT seems very comfortable with him and vice versa. Pro athletes don't need "binkies" per se, but I don't think it would hurt Tannehill's continued development if he had Hartline around.

so in other words we are settling for less with our wr corps again. Hartline may be a ok wr but he wont scare opossing defenses. it looks like Miami must be preparing to settle for less as usual . it wont suprise me that fin fans will make excusses for lossing once more .

if we get rid of Bess and bring in two more wrs then all is fine but if we dont sign a star wr then we will see another 7 -9 season.

i really dont have any faith the we will win unless we bring in Jennings or Wallace or Welker .

Someone told me today that he heard Shefter say that the Phins are thinking about signing Jennings and Bowe. Nobody knows s--t and it's all speculation, but I was just curious if anyone else heard Shefter mention this bit.

Lets just get Jennings, concentrate other monies elsewhere, if we don't have plans to go after Eifert, then spend some money on Finley instead of another wide receiver, get your young'in wide receiver in the first two rounds...balance.
