Its not a keeper. So not really. Ive never really taken it in to consideration much before in this league.
Hes good. My only problem him (and a few others) is that they are #2 type CB's and thats where they played last year (frequently matching up vs other teams #2's) whereas Bailey matched up with other teams #1's almost all the time and did so while maintaining a high level of play even at his advanced age. Plus if all goes according to plan Ill have better safety help then the Broncos last year.
Matt Flynn (at 7M +) became Ryan Mathews (at 3.2M) who became a 3rd + 4th + 5th. Analysis of a trade....not bad for a backup QB.
Rahim and Moore will help out Jackson, Vontae, and Marshall pretty well. I mean and I just need a 3-4 DE and I'll pretty much be set. That and a LT possibly.
I agree, thats why I said last year. Youve done a nice job upgrading that secondary. I do think Bailey was your best CB but the cap hit made him expendable for you.
Heh. Someone has sellers remorse about a player I traded for...want to pay a higher price to get em back. Not going to happen without a serious overpay. Proud of that trade.
I know, I know, you guys already discussed this, BUT, opinions? Excel Spread Sheet: DE Justin Smith, 9,833,333 SpotRac: DE Justin Smith, 8,000,000 Now, I didn't read all that you guys were talking about, but were the numbers used in the spreed sheet taken from spotrac, before some contract numbers were updated? Just curious as why some of the numbers are different is all. Not trying to stir up another debate.
You'll power through it. I'll post a new mock over the weekend.... you'll post a new mock during the week... before you know it, cut player bidding will be here.
If I didn't have other holes to fill...........I'd consider it. Spiller/Pierce as a combo backfield. Scary. I need to clear a bit more room though. I'm considering moving Corey Webster just to do it. Even though he's a #1 corner.
With so many tackles out there as FA's....what do you think the average price goes for? I've counted roughly 8-9 solid to great tackles in the market.
To me that was pretty one sided in the fact that the Bengals got a #1 WR, and #8. The trade value chart alone is pretty lopsided and the players swapping teams don't balance it either.
DE's with reasonable contracts are getting expensive. Wonder if I blew the curve with my Orakpo trade lol
Clearly he's a Florida fan... Years ago there was one guy who did this that was a huge Penn State fan and he would overpay for any PSU player. I think Saint Greg pissed him off so he quit... or maybe I did... it does sound like something I would do.
I'm a UNLV fan (Iowa State to bug GIK from time to time, but since he's more a UNI guy now its pointless.) but I would never overpay for a UNLV guy. Ok I may have bid on Eric Wright here or there, but really the only guy that would have been worth overpaying for was McCardell. Still Todd gave a second for Jacoby Ford... it was like he likes Clemson or something.
Maybe when I was running Oakland. Saint Greg was more active then I think, and had the power. Griddles was the Mach to his GIK back then, oh how times change. I'm still a better Oakland GM than Mach, and if you want to know the truth I started the overbidding for corners for the Raiders in the GML... Ken Lucas for 5 Million.
I think my first year as a GM I was Seattle when they had Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander, and Walter Jones as unrestricted free agents... that sucked.
It's more fun taking the teams facing daunting tasks. Still have do you go from increasing the salary cap from 58 million to 75 million to 85 million to 121 million. I was getting use to the 5 million intervals from the early days.
I'm a cap guru, wait til I dominate with dead money. Whatever makes it more realistic. Maybe I can just retire and do some behind the scenes work, or a team can just bring me in and let me draft. I miss being the Patriots, I hope they become bad for a season again so I can fix them.
