I didn't realize Laranaga coaches the Hurricanes....it came down to Ed Cooley and him for the Providence job.... Solid coach with heavy local roots up here....
SO let me ask a ridiculous question....how are we playing so well in basketball when we don't really rank highly in any statistic? 102nd in PPG 119th in RPG 239th in APG Only statistic I see we do overwhelmingly well in is FG% where we are 43rd.
You know that is a good point, and I'm honestly unsure. Those were the main stats available on the team page. I'm not a huge college B-Ball fan so it was more of a question for others. I guess I probably should have started with that
Actually they're in the middle of the pack in defensive statistics. Except Rebounds, steals and blocks per game where they're in the upper half...
Up to #2 in the AP poll. This week Virginia at home on Tuesday and Wake Forest away on Saturday. Six games to go. Hoping they can play a little better this week but Virginia will not be easy at all.
Really weird. So he holds the job more UM for 3 weeks. Wasn't even a lateral move, right? He must of not got along with Golden. What's worse, is these high school kids are not smart enough to realize how slimy these guys are.
Texas A&M became a long shot for Griffin when he ran into issues with his grades, with Blinn College rumors returning. Griffin has not yet signed with a junior college, but the expectation remains that he will not be eligible to enroll at Miami this summer and will have his arrival there delayed by a year or more. Griffin is a tremendous pickup for the 'Canes with great abilities as a receiver. He's ranked in the top 10 for all wide receivers by Rivals in the 2013 class.
The Canes are playing like crap today but the refs are letting Wake Forest mug them every time up the floor. I don't see a comeback in this game. The kids are too frustrated. Mainly Larkin
It was bound to happen, the Canes while a good team, aren't as good as their ranking would make you think..... they are there mostly due to coaching.
2013 schedule Tim Reynolds @ByTimReynolds Miami:8/30 FAU 9/7 FLA 9/21 Sav St 9/28 at USF 10/5 GTech 10/17 at UNC, 10/26 Wake 11/2 at FSU 11/9 VT 11/16 at Duke 11/23 UVa 11/29 at Pitt
That was EPIC! Brock destroyed them, did the Gator Chomp, and sent the Gator fans home tucked tailed.
Helluva game against Duke. Hate to lose but helluva game. Must admit that was a punk move by Duke slapping the floor when up by 10. Almost came back and bit them in the butt. Can't wait to play them again. Have a feeling that this time Shane won't miss. Finally, I'm beginning to dislike Durand's game. This "out of control" play gets old real fast. I would have tolerated when we didn't have anyone else, but his play is a liability at times.
Yeah, I didn't see the game, but the loss doesn't hurt me all that much. I was kind of expecting it. And Duke just showed how bitter they were about Miami's floor slapping. Funny they looked like fools. If anything Miami proved to me that they are still the better team. Kelly had a night he will probably never have again and Miami kept the rest of Duke's players in check. I love our chances on a neutral court with them, and quite frankly anyone else for that matter.
Very poor second half by the Canes tonight. I'm getting very concerned that they're wearing down mentally and physically.
