I would probably wet myself if it is Cruz. I am a huge Victor Cruz fan, but lets also be minded that he isn't a true #1 either. That said, Cruz is a HUGE upgrade over anyone we have on the roster right now.

I didn't say it was a dumb move. I'm saying it's a smart move, and if I had Mike Williams, I would want to keep him too.

Keep in mind I have ZERO idea who Richard is alluding to, or Section126 for that matter.

Some points that work in Miles Austin's favor.

    1. Jeff Ireland tried to get him once before. Even offered a high pick for him, if I'm not mistaken. It fell through.

    2. If you're one of those that believes this pass offense values versatility in its WRs, Miles Austin has spent 70% of his routes the last two years working from the slot. So you know he can work the slot as well as the perimeter.

    3. You would think this could backfire on him as Davone Bess is our 70% slot guy so that spot seems filled. But the stats argue that Austin was used too much in the slot. He averaged 1.18 yards per pass snap from the slot this year, and 2.73 yards per pass snap on the perimeter. That trend has persisted over time.

    4. He's got injury issues. No denying that. But this front office has shown that they're willing to take chances on injury issue guys at times (Justin Smiley, Jake Grove, Chad Pennington).

I realize that. You made it clear you thought it a smart move to keep him. I thought you were under the impression that *I* was saying that it would be a dumb move.

Miles Austin's salaries over the next four years:

    2013: $6.7 million
    2014: $5.5 million
    2015: $6.9 million
    2016: $11.4 million

Obviously if they traded for Austin, that would essentially be a three year deal. But the Cowboys would absorb any/all guaranteed money that's already been paid. So the 3 year, $19.1 million deal with zero guaranteed would essentially be the same amount of money Brian Hartline wants, with less risk (because of no guaranteed coin).

The call is on Philbin, if he wants Jennings, he'll get him, if its Wallace, it's because they believe Wallace is the better younger player..I have no problem with that, Mike Wallace is a dangerous football player, and if you can't use the skillset in your offense then I call Bs.The guy can take a quick screen, make 7 defenders miss in the open field and score, he can then fly right by your corner and safety for an 80 yard TD, untouched, so in reality he's not just a deep threat, he's a short route threat that coverage has to worry about in both instances.

It's about acquiring great talent, talent that makes defenders cover and worry about more territory than they would with average talent..he's one of the few players that can do that.

    I'm good with either one..

For the record, it's not just Omar that says he's their top target. Barry Jackson and Armando have been saying the same thing. So I do believe this is true.

His actual RAC average states otherwise, and it's probably because he is a long strider that is more fast than quick. His average of 3.9 RAC yards is only 0.4 yards higher than Brian Hartline's on average. Greg Jennings averaged 4.6 RAC yards this past year, and that is a trend that has been consistent.

Plus, this isn't an offense where you pair a big physical receiver with a speed guy and have each player with identified roles. This is an offense where the receivers are all interchangeable. You are going to fail if you try playing Mike Wallace in the slot, and you limit yourself as far as your passing concepts because Mike Wallace does not run a full route tree.

It doesn't strike you as suspicious that the Dolphins are going out of their way to make sure pretty much every beat writer knows that Mike Wallace is their top target?

I think you really hate your life, and wish you had jobs like mine. You resent that somebody you don't like has it so much better than you.

So I make all of this up right? So I must be psychic, for being right so often.

and I don't actually work on a TV show, although some on here have corresponded with that show, and the show itself mentions me on air.

and I don't actually have any sources although the Site Admin has verified them.

and I don't have Mike Wallace's phone number although the show I work for is trying to get him on in two weeks. I guess I will try to do that telepathically.

Your nightmare that is my life continues.......

I follow stuff like this pretty closely Pate, every time Sec has went out on a limb, he's been accurate, he earned his respect in this manner imo..Personally I don't think he has to defend himself to the board, I'm happy he's here sharing what he does, and hope he continues..I do think after years you can learn about a mans character on the Internet.

Hopefully you guys can reconcile to some degree.

I have a source, if anyone cares, lol, my source is real, hopefully y'all believe me, he was a coach in the big twelve, who just got a promotion to the sec conference, now an NFL team has invited him to the combine to interview him about a position coaching job for them..

Well, here's what I'm hoping Con and Sec are talking about..A trade for Jermichael Finley is in the works..

You give me a combination of Jennings/Finley or Finley/Wallace, it allows the draft to totally open up for us to build the football team without pressure..

I called you out because your post was needless. It was like a schoolchild - I know a secret and I ain't telling you nobodies. The only reason to post that was to try and puff your own chest out a little. Like I said it was "Attention Whore" stuff.

Smoke and mirrors. Cat and mouse game. I think this is actually maybe smart on their part, if only the guy they really are targeting is affordable and a playmaker. If not it's just more of the same clown act we've been seeing from Ireland for years now.

Regardless of your credibility, are those of us who dont know you just supposed blindly take your word as gospel? Theres a lot of false information on the internet. Jumping on someone for wanting tangible evidence, as opposed to third party conjecture, is ignorant and puts forth the idea you are full of yourself.

Next time, you could try to politely ask for something more tangible instead of telling someone to "shut their trap" and spouting off insults/personal attacks.

Just throwing it out there. Could be worth a shot...
