it adds a lot if you knew and respected him as a poster and information source..it means that we might find out before anyone else what's going on and who we are targeting.. You know, I'm gonna say this, the club level here used to be incredible, and still is, but because of the quality of the main board forum, I think a lot of us felt like we don't want to isolate ourselves in any way anymore, we all want to be one, which imo is a total compliment to the people that run the site, the comraderie we have as a site, and the quality of posters, and the respect we have for each other, But if this is how a respected member is going to be treated, I would only post what he knows in the club..
So basically as long as something happens you can say you knew about it without any actual burden of being able to prove you had any idea what was going on about anything?
he doesn't owe you an explanation every time he posts so brand new members don't think he's full of himself.. Just takes a little time to get to know this place is different.
??? No. If I know something..I will post it. I don't take credit for things I don't comment on. But I sure as **** will take credit for a report I post on here, two weeks before Armando Salguero writes a 2,000 word piece on the same thing, using some of the SAME quotes. Same goes for that other hack Ira Winderman.
That, or in a few days he'll be in position to try and confirm the Dolphins' interest in a certain player as per Con's report. You know, what he actually said?
Whoops! Posting from my phone, and thought you were oakelmpine... who started this whole back and forth with Sec when he started off saying to shut his trap and make personal attacks. My appologies... And no, you shoudnt believe everything on the interwebz. Even stuff written by our own local beat writers. Take everything with a grain of salt until it happens... as there is too much mis-information, smoke and mirrors, etc out there. But still, you can be greatful for those who try to post information that they come across it...
I didnt ask for an explanation. i just think it was a little much to jump on someone who would rather "see it for themself." So i should believe everything i read here without taking into account that some people lie. And that isnt a shot at anyone on these boards.
I thought something was odd when the post disappeared so quickly. Im not taking anyones side, i just didnt like the profanity/vitriol shot toward someone who has the right to reject info that isnt necessarily fact.
Whoa, guys, come on. Take it easy. I know Jeff Ireland is still around but no need to let that get us all crazy. Either Sec will confirm this rumor, shoot it down, or neither.
Rumors are like reading the tabloids. Not since the Satele trade can I recall any inside info actually being proven correct.
Back to the Mike Wallace thing...I find this really hard to believe. Back when the Dolphins traded Brandon Marshall away, the big explanation that came out was how in Joe Philbin's offense he doesn't have a #1 guy and everything is based on concepts and who is open, a bunch of egalitarian yadda-yadda, whereas Brandon Marshall is a guy that would pretty much demand 150+ targets a season. Go back to the Green Bay offense 2007 (when Philbin took over as OC) to 2012 and toss in Miami's 2012 season and the most popular receiver of the year has been targeted on average 120 times. Sometimes a little above, sometimes a little below. Since 2008 there have been 148 instances of a wide receiver in the NFL being targeted 100+ times. Only 20 of those instances involved the guy averaging 10+ yards per target. Mike Wallace did that in 2011. But by 2012 his yards per target were back down to a paltry 7.2 average. Considering 14 different players account for the 20 instances in question over the 5 years, and considering Mike Wallace himself accounts for only 1 of these instances, I don't think it would be a fair expectation to estimate that he'll just do this on average going forward every year. He's had 3 seasons where he's been targeted as often as a starter and he's produced 11.6, 10.0 and 7.2 yards per attempt in those seasons (in order, note the declining trend). The average of the group of 148 players that were targeted 100+ times in a season over the 5 years is about 8.5 yards per attempt. If that's closer to what Wallace is going to average going forward as a #1 wide receiver in Miami then he's averaging barely 1,000 yards per season. And we're paying $12 million a year for that. Maybe that sounds palatable right NOW when we're in total desperation mode...but what happens 2 years down the road when you've paid him about $35 million (guaranteed money included) for 2 seasons where he's produced similar to Brandon Marshall in Miami (2200 yards, 9 TDs)? I just don't see Joe Philbin agreeing with the presence of a $12 million wide receiver on his depth chart, that he now feels pressure to feed the ball in order to justify the player's worth. If it happens, then all this talk over the years will have been just that...talk.
The thing is, it's plausible that Salguero and Winderman have inside sources. They've said things that don't require a presupposition that they know things to need to believe they're valuable. They're hacks, but with the exception of Omar Kelly's twitter stunt they don't just do stuff like this for attention. That's what I'm talking about too.
3 things. I don't believe we're targeting Wallace. I can vouch that Section does work for a local Miami sports show. I loathe coleslaw.
I am sure they do as well. But what is not up for dispute is that I posted a story on here, Two weeks before Armando did a big story on it. He even used a QUOTE I used. A QUOTE! Ira..it is just a long history of him posting "insider" hits on his blog that he flat out stole from me and others.
I agree with A and B... Coleslaw is awesome, and is a great accompaniment to BBQ, and a Deli Meal. Something that versatile has to be good.
no bro, but why are you different then me, when I first came, I kept my eyes and ears open, kept my mouth shut, and figured who was full of sh&$ and who wasn't, I most certainly wouldn't question someone's integrity.. It just takes a little time, not long for a new member to know what's going on here because of the quality, and if you can respect that, it's a really cool place to share your passion for your team, make some new friends, and without question, stay on top of the direction and state of your team..The Information you get here from some of these posters is like stealing..actually that's what a lot of the media does from some here..
Just not a WR, or not a reciver of any kind which would include TE? The only big name that would require secrecy would be Revis in my mind, but I can't even take that possibility seriously right now
if I made you cole slaw you would like it...spicy, fresh, delicious..say it Fin, say Ffffresshhhh.. Nicely shredded cabbage, some champagne vinegar, good hellman's mayo, lil sour cream, kosher salt, lil bit of sugar to your liking, roast a few chipotles, put them in a blender with a lil olive oil, mix all together, couple dash's of tobasco, and be frrrressshhhh..
Ok...just to let everyone know, when the Conman talks, I would fu&$in listen, and be intrigued as hell, and a bit excited.. Pissass, it's not Finley for the trade...ok man, tel me what you know or I'll never speak to you again...lol
The thing is, a guy like Wallace doesn't need a really high volume of targets to be really productive and I don't think a big contract will force Philbin to force targets to Wallace. Marshall needed a high volume of targets to be both productive and happy. I think that's the difference between the two and why they wouldn't want Marshall but would want Wallace.
"Regardless of your credibility, are those of us who dont know you just supposed blindly take your word as gospel? Theres a lot of false information on the internet. Jumping on someone for wanting tangible evidence, as opposed to third party conjecture, is ignorant and puts forth the idea you are full of yourself." No one jumped on anyone for wanting tangible evidence, another poster said he was grandstanding and puffing out his chest..he wasn't, you chimed in with your thoughts..you trying to tell him what's ignorant and how it could be perceived as being full of oneself is what is ignorant.
I want you to really visualize, and taste what I'm about to say..six words.. Cole slaw, blender, milk, straw...coleslaw milkshake.....take it in man..mmmm, yummy.
For what it's worth (very little) I have a former colleague who now works for NFL N that told me a similar story with regards to Miami's top F/A target. All he said to my reply of "Will it be Wallace, Jennings or Bowe?" was "Wrong position" so... This was last night, FYI.
