So recently Goodell's salary was released and it's ridiculously high. According to Deadspin:

This makes him the only commissioner who makes more than the highest paid player in his respective league. But this is where things get really interesting, because the reason we know how much Roger made was due to the fact that the NFL is registered as a non-profit and they have to release that info.

How much Goodell makes doesn't really bother me, but the NFL being able to register as a non-profit is just wrong. Everything about them screams the opposite.

Props for finding the loophole I suppose. Can't blame Goodell for filling his,own pockets though. Who wouldn't?

I can't blame him either. If the NFL thinks he's worth that kind of money, than that's their choice. The non-profit thing is just wrong though. Baseball had the same type of exemption, but they got rid of it because they didn't like the public knowing what their execs made. I wonder if the NFL should make the same decision?

It's not outrageously high for CEOs of other companies. How much do people think the heads of this multi-billion dollar industries make? It aint 1-2 million.

He's certainly worth it when you consider how much the NFL makes. The non-profit thing is ridiculous on its face, but how much does it save?

The key part of this statement is "pays himself." You can afford to pay yourself 350k when you're the founder of the company. Goodell is an employee to the owners.

I find it more shady that MLB would rather pay taxes then report their salaries.

One of the things I read said that CEO's of nonprofits typically make 5 million a year. I think that's what we have to compare him to?

Seeing as though Roger Goodell's base salary is like 3 million, I'd say that's about right. Most Non-Profits don't issues bonuses like the NFL does....because the NFL is well....for profit regardless of how its classified.

To be fair his salary is paid by the owners of the team, so he is compensated to what the owners think is fair....

Not too mention the product he overseas is award winning....
