If Washington had been playing a true 4-3 end position in college he's possibly a 1st rounder IMO. Choosing UGA might've hurt him.
Agreed, but I still don't understand the combine switch of Washington to LB, especially with the undersized 4/3 DE types left at DE like Jordan, Mingo and Buchanan. Washington has 20 lbs on Mingo, yet they put Washington at LB- peculiar imo.
Te'o looked ok- then NFLN decided that it was better to replay Teo'os drill than show Washington live, incredible. Now drills are over, break for commercial. Not sure what these TV guys are thinking. They had to know that after the 40 runs fans wanted to see how Washington looked in LB agility drills.
Te'o official 40 time 4.82. Chase Thomas not so hot in the agility drills. Tom Wort looked pretty quick in drills.
I think he's interesting, especially if Miami wants more of a pass-rusher at OLB that can play on the opposite of Wake. But, for what Kevin Coyle asked Koa Misi to do last year, Misi did it pretty well.
Once again Hodges looks good but he slips. Hopefully AJ Klein didn't pop a knee or an ankle when he slipped the 2nd time in the drill. NFLN goes to commercial with Ogletree a few players away in a fast paced drill, the saga continues.
Ogletree skipped over by commercial, get to see Te'o again- yay. And they break again, drill over, Te'o 2nd go around was probably taped- no Cornelious Washington or Alec Ogletree. Douches.
I don't give a s*** about watching a goddam extended zoom in of John Fox or a replay of Te'o after just f***ing watching Te'o. You suck donkey balls this year, NFLN.
They should know better than to skip over Washington given his size/position switch/40 time and Ogletree- better in their eyes to show Te'o twice and lesser players- crappy editing/program directing, whatever you call it. In other news a piece of Bansky street art was cut out of a London building and was set to be offered at auction in Miami before it was pulled- leave it to Miami. http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/24/us-usa-art-banksy-idUSBRE91N01220130224 Zavier Gooden official 40 of 4.47 leads LBs- Corny Washington runs 4.53 and 4.50 2nd run and is given an official time of 4.55- I don't understand that. Ogletree looks awfully good in agility drills, no surprise there.
On the subject of Marquess Wilson, I just went back and parsed through the original "open letter" and subsequent apology text to Athletic Director Bill Moos. Here's the original letter: And here is the apology text. You can draw your own judgments from it. If anything he used a poor choice of words at the very tail end of the letter. But given the body of the letter I thought it was very obvious within what context he was alleging "abuse". In his text all he says is "I wasn't trying to accuse the coaches of hitting players or anything". I thought that much was obvious to anyone who can read and who knows anything about the situation whatsoever, and I hate that he actually needed to clarify that. But that clarification pretty much accounts for what everyone is calling a "recantation". But it's not a recanting. He never alleged that they were doing that. He alleged that they were belittling players, intimidating them, humiliating them, verbally and emotionally abusing them, and I think the "physical abuse" wording within that context clearly means the physical punishments they demanded that players go through on the field, i.e. the exact activity during which he quit midway through told everyone to go eff themselves and left the field.
Is anyone high on Jarvis Jones from Georgia. I dont hear a lot of talk about him but i got to see him play live in person this year and the dude was a freak. My uncle is the head coach for vanderbilt and he absolutley wrecked us this year.
The thing with Mingo is he can beat an OT like a rag doll and then completely miss a sitting duck QB, and not just one time... I'd be scared what would happen with him at LB.
Jamie Collins is superman. Leap small buildings in a single bound. A 41.5" vertical and 11'7" broad jump? No wonder Daniel Jeremiah had him in his top linebackers group. Wish he actually played football like that, though.
Tommy isn't a vertical guy. He'll make a roster though and make some plays on special teams. Thought Sharrif Floyd looked every inch the top three pick I said he should be in his workouts. Very smooth in drills. Also impressed with Margus Hunt in everything he did and he looked excellent in his drills. But that's a red flag to me because that's not how he looks on tape.
That's because this is his sport. What he's doing right now. Indianapolis is his sport. Not football.
Sheldon can stay on the field all three downs mooch..with ease, and a better pass rusher imo on that third down.
D Jones is a pretty scary looking player.. Why does Jordan need weight when he fits at outside linebacker, with his quickness, initial burst, he can use that speed to rush the passer and drop into coverage, disagree with Mayocks assessment on his natural place.. I wouldn't hesitate to trade Burnett if Dion is on the board at 12
In many ways the bench press is a character test. I think DJ would attest to that. Well, consider it yet another test of character that Tyrann Mathieu failed. Did 4 bench reps.
Shamarko Thomas on the other hand, you pass the character test with flying colors. 5'9" and 213 lbs, just ripped off 28 bench reps.
Here's a bit of Cornelious Washington film- nice demonsration of strength, speed and beating an OT straight up at :39. He certainly looks the part, certainly can run well. I'm watching him and drawing favorable comparisons to Tank Carradine- I'm also wondering if he'll make it out of the 2nd round of the draft, if not higher. He certainly impressed today- ran a 4.50, looked good in the drills I saw, posted a 39" vertical- he certainly made an impression today, great athlete. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KSD-XriyTQ As a guy who likes Damontre Moore, given his performance vs Washington's at the combine and the questions that surround Moore's overall game- I'd be hard pressed to draft Moore before Washington. It is what it is, Washington blew him out of the water today. 10 reps and a 4.87 just doesn't cut it. All these DEs have questions/concerns- I'm wondering how close Washington will go to the top of the DE rankings post combine. Werner looked pretty good, not close to Washington though. I still see Washington as a DE, not OLB.
Datone Jones looks great- as to Jordan, my concern ios how bad that shoulder injury really is/will he fully recover. I see him as OLB, not DE.
