Is the trade still on with the Rams GM not managing to trade up?

    Deal is off for now.

Here's my thinking on the trade. I have a top ten. A Dolphins top ten, anyway. There's maybe four guys on the periphery of that top ten that would feel ok about "settling" for. If I had picks #12 and #16 there's a halfway decent chance I could come out with TWO of those top ten players of mine. That would be huge. And then I'd still have two 3rd rounders to sweep up stragglers and take more contributors. And then I'd have my four 5th to 7th rounders to try and uncover some diamonds.

Now on the other hand, I've half a mind to reset the trade negotiations, give up pick #77 to move from pick #42 to #22, and pick up both Cordarrelle Patterson and Tavon Austin. Welcome to the new Miami Dolphins.

I'm just a little disturbed that all these guys I've been talking about for months are suddenly getting popular, lol. Lots of value in the 2nd round you say? Maybe, but a lot of my value 2nd round plays are becoming 1st round plays.

I totally agree Mr C… Unless of course he is positioning himself to get someone like Elam then I disagree with you! lol

Now i like that very much. Give up a 3rd and a 2nd and move back into the first and secure the duo of Patterson and Austin. That's some instant potent firepower for your offense.

Jones is off the board now… He and Milliner (which I know aint happening) are the two defensive players I would take in a second if they are on the board at 12… Jones and Elam would be a great addition to the defense if you are taking about playmakers.

Milliner is still there and were 1 pick away. Looks like Broncos traded up, they might take Milliner.

How do you think I feel when I broke the Travis Kelce secret on here and all of a sudden he's a possible second round pick.

Werner over Milner? Never would have guessed. Though Werner seems to be the clear top DE.

And the Jets just took Milliner right after Dolphins. If this happened in real life, you know that'd come back to hunt us for all eternity.

it's ok. Solid talent and corner depth this draft to get quality in the 2nd/3rd round.

Just the opposite. I view it as payback for a year ago when the Dolphins took Johnathan Martin and then the Jets took my guy Stephen Hill right behind them.

The Combine has its place but allowing Star Lotulelei and Bjoern Werner to fall to #12 was a knee-jerk reaction to some developments at the underwear olympics. I would be tickled pink if Bjoern Werner fell into my lap.

How could you hate on a guy for taking Bjoern Werner with the 12th pick? It's a brilliant pic. Werner hs been mocked to go #2 overall to Jacksonville in most mock drafts I have seen. Werner opposite of Cameron Wake would be special. The only players I would consider there would be Dee Milliner, Cordarrelle Patterson, Tavon Austin, and Kenny Vaccaro

The two guys I considered were Star Lotulelei and Bjoern Werner. They were in a class unto their own. If they were off the board then I'd have been considering Dee Milliner, Cornellius Carradine and Cordarrelle Patterson. After that, Xavier Rhodes, Tyler Eifert, Sheldon Richardson and Manti Te'o.

We're on pick #17 and both Star Lotulelei and Cordarrelle Patterson are still on the board. I may make a chart value offer for pick #22 for Cordarrelle Patterson if we get to that pick and he's still there.

After the combine there are 15 players I would be okay with at 12....This list is not in any particular order....

    1-Bjoern Werner
    2-Dion Jordan
    3-Barkevious Mingo
    4-Tyler Eifert
    5-Tavon Austin
    6-Cordarrelle Patterson
    7-Dee Milliner
    8-Xavier Rhodes
    9-Kenny Vaccaro
    10-Star Lotulelei
    11-Sheldon Richardson
    12-Sharrif Floyd
    13-Jarvis Jones
    14-Chance Warmack
    15-Ezekial Ansah

I want nothing to do with Manti Te'o. I wouldn't even look at him in round two.
