No worries. It happens all the time. I only said it because I am the one who originally posed the question.

Excellent. Coyle makes the most out of talented has-beens. We're going to upgrade CB as much as WR I hope.

Wouldn't Pat White still be the rights to the Dolphins? I know that the fierce hitting ;) Ike Taylor knocked him out of the NFL and he retired, but if he were to try and stage some come back wouldn't we still have his rights, and would a team that maybe interested in him, for whatever reason, still have to have trade talks with us?

MiAustin just restructured, so there goes that option. Looks like Bowe may be back with the Chiefs. So that leaves Wallace and Jennings as the two remaing "splash" wrs left.

And KC wants to retain Bowe, inow, Wallace is probably going to get that huge contract.

This is one of the reasons why relying on FA is just not worth the effort, the good talent stays on teams.

Yup, we're definitely catching a glimpse of that.

And the Patriots could be targeting Greg Jennings with all the savings they got on Tom Brady's contract.

Easily, but then again that also means Brandon Lloyd will be on the mkt per rumors of his 2.3 million dollar roster bonus won't be picked up, he'd really fit the Ireland approach as well.

To me, Te is just a huge issue, even if we retain Fasano, no one should count on Egnew who apparently has the football IQ of a tree stump. And Clay just did not have the break out yr I thought he was going to have in 2012.

Let's be honest that 3 days grace period where players can talk with teams but can't sign contracts is not going to do them any favors.

Irish will go to his happy place and once again mine the Dallas pipeline: Miles Austin will be a Miami Dolphin. Book it. Will it work out? Who knows. Can't be any worse than the Colombo fiasco.

I just seriously doubt Patterson is on the menu, I'd bet Ireland has a spreadsheet with every Wr with his number of college starts and physical skills and their bust out rate for the last 10 yrs.

As for Finley, could see it, but Philbin also seems to like to run a tight ship, he knows stuff about Finley we have no idea about.

True, but TE may still be an issue even if the Dolphins land a free agent like Keller. I'm not sold on him.

Also, once again one of the Dolphins greatest challenges will likely rear itself up - that is their inability to draw top free agents without going over the top, contract wise.

Interestingly, apparently Agents are leery of guiding players to Miami b/c Rosenhaus may poach them.

Had not thought of that, but it does make sense, Agents have the players ear, they may not risk getting their paydays hijacked.

Levitre would be a stud signing. PFF's #1 rated pass blocker at Guard which is impressive. Anything that buys Tanny more time in the pocket.

I'd go one step further and give Tanny a hell of a pocket by also plundering Buffalo with Chad Rinehart (PFF's #7 pass blocker at guard). Rinehart could probably be had for $3.5-4 million a year. With Pouncey that'd be a hell of an interior. But then I love my OL guys so I'd also want us to grab one of those fine RT's like Gosder. But considering what Jake Long + Incognito would cost us...we could probably get Levitre/Gosder and Rinehart.

Honestly those 3 signings would be bigger then Wallace or Jennings. Just re-sign Hartline and draft a load of WR's/TE's.

The other move in FA would have to be CB. I'd like a veteran guy to go with Marshall. That way we aren't forced to go corner earlier and perhaps groom a guy in the 3rd/4th.

Add 3 more to the list:

Falcons just cut Michael Turner, John Abraham and Dunta Robinson.

Of those 3 only Turner is the one with minimal value. At this point he is nothing more than a reserve and short yardage at best.

The Falcons are cutting John Abraham, Dunta Robinson, and Michael Turner apparently.

Say what you will about Ireland, he has seemingly picked a quite good offseason to be flushed with cash.

John Abraham should have a bit more than minimum value, I think, and probably a bit more than Michael Turner. He's old but he's still a good pass rusher.

Yep. There is still value you there with him, especially from the pass rusher side of things. He should come at a good price tag and could take pressure off of Wake, if we are not able to get Cliff Avril.

PFF has Robinson's coverage skills falling. -7.3 Coverage with 6 clearly bad games and another 3 negative.

Lot of quantity out there in FA for corners...but they mostly come with question marks. Some solid nickel guys though...but wonder if they aren't trying to get paid like #1's.

I think the vast majority of these FAs will be getting much lower offers than what they're currently expecting. A few will get the big early offer from a Snyder/Redskins type owner/team, but I expect that for most free agency will open with a whimper. The annoying part is that we'll have to wade through all those posts claiming that Ireland won't take a risk, yada, yada, but it will be what most of the league does and the smart thing to do.

The addition of Dunta Robinson to the free agent market only affects us in that it pumps up the supply. All the more reason to believe we can solve that positions problems with smart free agent signings to where we don't have to force ourselves to take a corner at 12 overall.

another one bites the dust. Although that move makes it a little more liekly that Andy Levitre hits the market for the o-line fetishists among us

But that means RT Andre Smith is free to walk. PFF's #1 RT.

OL fetishists ( schmolioot trademark) are happy.
