I'd be very cautious with Andre Smith. He's not had a good season until this year (a contract year) and still has some serious weight issues. If Miami is in fact going after at RT in free agency, I'd endorse both Sebastian Vollmer and Gosder Cherilus over Smith, regardless of PFF ranking. I just don't trust him.

Eh, was never interested in Johnson, the two cinci players who do interest me:

    -PacMan Jones
    -Karlos Dunlap

Especially Dunlap, I believe he plays Odricks' DE slot in Cinci, if lose Starks we could do much worse than land Dunlap and kick Odie inside.

I don't want any part of Andre Smith.

And Michael Johnson being franchised is all the more reason I'm on the phone right now with John Abraham.

Love your sig pic by the way.

Let's just say that signing Levitre and Ansre Smith would be "Britta'ing" the off season, lol

It isn't like Robinson can cover anyone either. He is one of the worst as well. He is a big hitter, but he also misses a lot as well.

Levitre I want or Chad Rinehart. Smith just adds to the RT pool. I'd lean towards Phil Loadholt whose solid at both pass/run blocking.

With Smith though...you can put in some clauses about his weight. Plus we got an OL coach who doesn't mind making guys puke on the field (Jerry ;p)

Dunlap is a FA according to our master free agent list in the GM league.

As for the person who wants Gosder. He's intriguing....but while he's a real good pass blocking RT..........don't expect much of his run blocking..it's barely avg...maybe even below average.

As for CB.........has anyone mentioned Greg Toler out of Arizona? Seems to flying under the radar a bit.

I mentioned him a few weeks ago for the very reason you give. Also the Cards just cut William Gay. Wonder if we'd have any interest in him? His PFF rating for coverage wasn't good, but his comp pct allowed and QB rating were both about the median for corners. Also in 1034 snaps he allowed 1 TD pass.

First I've seen of that. Thanks.

At that price, I would let him walk. That would make him the highest paid LT in the league.

Bengals certainly have the chips to keep Smith if they choose.

What Jake Long wants and what he'll get might be two different things. The Dolphins could be thinking he's about to discover that when free agency opens, that other teams are not offering significantly much more than what the Dolphins are offering.

Of course that could backfire on them.

    Gay signed with Pitt.

I liked Keenan Lewis coming out, he'd be another guy I'd kick the tires on

And MAYBE Cliff Avril, he had a down year as the read option destroys the Wide 9, but he is another player I liked.

Like I was pointing out earlier. Loadholt/Levitre would cost roughly what Long wants + Incognito. And that's why Long has to go.

I've never been a huge fan of Phil Loadholt and I like him even less in this system which seems to prize mobility in their linemen.

And I'm not as big a fan of Andy Levitre as some. I can absolutely see why he's considered to be pretty much the best guard out there, but I also think he's a little bit "best of a bad bunch" that way. Because of his status as the top guard, he is likely to be paid significantly more than his worth, IMO.

I like Geoff Schwartz at that position. At tackle, I like Branden Albert. I like Sebastian Vollmer although I don't like that signing him would mean we're counting on Jon Martin at left tackle. I'm intrigued by the Gosder Cherilus option but think once again I'd rather take him with the idea of moving HIM to left tackle rather than moving Martin there. Sam Baker could be a consideration but I haven't taken a good enough look at him. Jermon Bushrod the same.

Thanks. The trickle effect is it freed them up to place the franchise tag on Branden Albert.

No Joeckel for them at #1 overall. Or Eric Fisher or Lane Johnson, for that matter. No Geno Smith or Matt Barkley for them, either.

And the numbers for Bowe (which I'm sure are big) along with the fact that Bowe is no longer out there, will make both Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace more expensive. Jennings is off my list when I hear him talking about $12 million a year. Wallace has already been off it.

Some of the assumptions I made in #MockTwo are looking to come true.

I wish the Miles Austin thing had panned out.

And there are the numbers...$11 million a year. That will only embolden Greg Jennings and Mike Wallace. I would stay away from the lot of them, at these prices.

    Domenik Hixon is underrated.

11M for a guy with 800 yards and 3 TDs.

Now I can't blame Hartline for expecting 7-8 Mill. :pity:

Miles Austin would have been an option but I doubt he leaves Dallas after restructuring.

I'd like to see what Brian Hartline is ultimately demanding with his final "take or it I leave" offer. But I would definitely look at Domenik Hixon as a valid replacement player.

But that's all he is. You're looking at drafting two Day 1/Day 2 players and/or coming out of the Draft with Cordarrelle Patterson even after that.

I'm all for this, but I know he isn't the answer at WR by any means. Hartline, Bess, and Hixon is better than what we trotted out for most of last year (plus two high picks would be nice).

Also, I'll always love Hixon because of how awesome he was at my alma mater. Heck, I think Chase Blackburn is a FA too, let's bring him in!

Bowe got 10 million, which is what pretty much everyone was saying he'd command. I'm confused how this is good for Jennings or Wallace?

Everyone said Wallace was 12, Jennings was 8, Bowe was 10. I still think Jennings can be had for 8.

Evidently Bowe got $56 million over 5 years which is actually $11.2 million, and $36 million of that will be paid in the first 3 years, which means $12.0 million per year for the first 3 years.

So yeah I think it's a contract that scares potential suitors for both Wallace and Jennings.

Coincidence that suddenly Dolphins reported to be hot and heavy with Hartline on a deal paying him $6 or $6.5 million a year?
