It's a one year league. So chances are folks will project based on how they played last year. For instance...Mikell...great against the run...but he allowed 76.6% of passes to be caught on him for a 107.9 QBR on passes into his area (Perspective...Yeremiah Bell did better last year in that regard...but Mikell blew him away vs the run & pass rushing). Hall allowed 60.7% of passes into his area for a 90.8 QBR. Sean Smith finished 5 pts better in both and we know how inconsistent he was(targeted same # of times). Hall at least hauls in those INT's...where as Sean Smith drops em. Hall plays the run better...but sadly Smith was a bit more consistent as far as defending his guy.
Oh hush... you're sitting here comparing only age when DeAngelo Hall has been in the league for 10 years while Sean Smith has been in the league for 4 years. I'm not sitting here saying Smith is better than Hall at this point however you have to take into consideration that it's not just age but how long you have been in the league. Hall has an additional 6 years of wear and tear on him. This is all beside the point but the fact of the matter is... DeAngelo Hall is not worth $7.5M/yr IMO.
Saw your update on the team finances (good work by the way). That made up my mind to just wash my hands of the Webster mistake. I figure with that space I should be able to walk out of FA with 3 starters...4 if I get a little luck and prices don't get Colston nuts.
