Friend of mine posted in Curt Fennell's email group: WQAM just said the deal is done! 6.5 Million per year
I dont know if that is correct....they must be just assuming at this point. Hartline was supposedly at the beach hanging out today and not at the facility signing a deal. We will probably hear that terms have been agreed upon before anything "officail" happens. I could be wrong though!
Yeah, nothing on his twitter to indicate he's signed or even agreed to terms. Sure sounds like he is loving being in South Fla though.
One perspective I can look at 6.5 mill and come out feeling ok, is that Bowe is making twice that, and I don't think bowe is twice as good as Hartline.. Time to hit the gym Malibus most wanted...
I believe this move represents Jennings in Miami, it represents a 2nd receiver salary, moves two players down the depth chart, creates room for a #1 (Jennings) and a hi draft pick to groom and implement into the scheme.. Must sign Jennings to complete this unit.. ..
I agree. I see Hartline as #2 WR and if he signs a contract averaging about half of what #1 WRs are getting, I can't say that's out of whack. I also don't agree with those who think he could be so easily replaced. There's value in having somebody who knows your complex system, has a rapport with your QB and fits in with the culture of the team.
Word!!! The dudes all talking now on NFL Live agree that Jennings to Miami makes the most sense for him.
I just don't believe the disproportionate figures out there when it comes to Jennings, his last two years and injury history cannot demand top dollar, he also loves his possible new coach and gets to move out of ****in Wisconsin to play in Miami, plus saves in taxes, it all adds up to 8.5 a year, and a guy that is smart enough to put things into context. We draft Tavon or Eifert in the first, if it's Eifert, then we roll with wide receiver in the 2nd like Woods etc.
I'm not upset about the resigning, even though its too much money. As long as Hartline and Bess aren't our 2 starters at Wr I'll be happy.
ding ding ding....come on y'all, get with the program baby ain't got time for ifs ands or maybes, we gots money y'all, and we gonna spend it..
I dunno, Ireland sees a few big strong Lbs who can play some good special teams, he may go all in on one of them. Going by your theory then we will sign Jennings or Wallace or trade for a #1. If you're right, I'll feel better.
Yeah. I want Austin the most at 12, then a TE at 42 or 54, and another WR at the other pick. Woods, Bailey or Swope. If we resign Fasano, he'd be the Y, so we need an H, ideally speaking, but Fasano can be the H too. I'd be happy with any of several TEs in the 2nd. I think if we sign Jennings and do not resign Fasano or add another veteran it points to the 12 being Eifert.
5 seconds left in the superbowl… Score is 20 to 14… (other team) THill drops back and hits a wide open Hartron…. he is at the 50… the 40… the 30… the 20.. the 10…. the 5… OH NO Hartron hits the invisible anti Hartron endzone prevention wall… then trips on a shoelace and falls at the one yard line… Dolphins lose
Love you Mr C but if we draft Austin with the 12th pick of the draft I will drive to Oregon and personally slap you (not the you have any control over the pick)
Oooof....Jennings..Hart..Austin..Bess..Woods... Or Jennings..Hart..Bess..Eifert..Woods... I'd be ok with the Swopester in there instead of woods..prolly at 2b even. It all works nicely.
You don't think this was too much for minimal production that has probably already reached his ceiling? Agreed.
Jennings, Hartron, Bailey 2b, Bess and Swope 3b That gives you three other picks to address OT, TE and DB (in the first three rounds)
Seems too good to be true. I say 1st in Rhodes at CB, 2a with hopefully either ertz or eifert, 3a for an OL
Great glad this happened and he will look great with Jennings, and Mike Wallace!! Now get a Stud TE and LT and were solid as hell on offense.
I'm good with that too, there's plenty ya know..and easily possible with our resources.. You mean like Eifert..2a corner..Bailey Swope...sure, I'm down with that sickness.
That would be ok. It'd be good to see ya again. I don't get down to your neck of the woods much anymore.
I'd take the under. The only way that having a better WR and coverage-drawing TE will actually have an on-field effect is if those players are thrown at. That means less targets for Hartline.
