If you all remember, going into Sept. Last year our starting RG was Artic Hicks. He was cut prior to the opener or placed on IR. forget which. With Steinbach not working out that did not leave many options as they did not see Garner as a Guard, do not blame them. Sooooooooo ol tubby boy was inserted into the lineup. Samuda was not felt to be ready so, we had nobody else after Hicks was put on IR.

I guess we know who the winner for the most concussions for a current player award is, because he damn sure must have brain damage if he thinks he's worth that.

Speaking from experience, fat boy? ;)

I'm no dietician but 50 LBs in 60 days is insane. You almost have to sit around and eat steak, cheese and ice cream for 2 months while doing zero physical activity. I'll believe it when I see it.

He never should of been drafted by this regime, whoever did it, should start prioritizing college players taking their craft more serious as a sign of intelligence and work ethic..

Just stay away from fat asses who obviously know they can have a professional career, you'll win a lot more than you'll lose by adopting my theory..

I don't want to jump on his case because we don't have confirmation of that but just in general.

Not super proud, but yes, I am speaking from experience.

KFC Hot wings, Burgers with Shakes, Expensive quality ice cream, and chinese food made it quite simple to gain 50 pounds in 60 days.

One of my favorite meals during this time was a 20 piece hot wing, 2 biscuits, and order of potato wedges for the ride home.

He was NOT 330 when the 2012 season ended. He was friggin 360 Aug 22 2012. Hit link, read date and weight http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/08/...epiction/landing_dolphins.html?blockID=779323

Then amazingly 9 days later the 53 man roster came out on Aug 31 and he weighed 330 LBs ???????????? Like I said, Artis Hicks was the starting RG until he was put on injured reserve prior to the first football game of 2012. John Jerry NEVER weighed 330 lbs in 2012, NEVER. Because there is no way on the planet earth anyone can LOSE 30 lbs in 9 days and fact is, he didn't, staff had no choice but to use him.

Sometimes you believe you can help the guy turn a corner. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

Its not unheard of at all. First off as I said, John Jerry never saw 330 lbs in 2012. If you actually watched him our LG weighed 320 and our RG weighed ( Jerry ) 330? Looking at Inocgnito and then at Jerry was like looking at day and night. There was no way Jerry was only 10 pounds heavier then Incognito, no way.

But back to gaining weight. I have never gained that much but you take a kid thats around, oh, 242 lbs and he does nothing but fill his face with food for two months ? Yep, its not hard to do. Heck, I gained 9 pounds just from a week before Christmas untl new years and none of it was fast food.

Like I said, its third hand info but usually good info and no reason for the person to lie at all. He was warned last year, the coaches were not happy with him and I am positive he shows up like the Pillsbury Dough boy this year he will be escorted out.

Jerry at minimum, was 20 to 25 lbs heavier then our LG at minimum. It was sad watching him try to move around. Sure Jerry had some good games but for the most part it was like watching sludge drip down a window.

2010 was the year our coaches worked the Senior Bowl and Jerry was on the South squad they were coaching. So Tony had a week of up close exposure to Jerry and still apparently advocated his being drafted. :pity:

Jerry needs some sort of motivation or a good kick in the chops. I know people say we should have kept Donald Thomas but not so sure. Somebody must have kicked him in the chops because after we cut him he did not find a job until November with the Lions and they cut him. He did not sign anywhere again until Sept. 14 2011 with the Pats. Until Mankins went down, Thomas did not start a game. His first game starting was when Mankins went down and they started him at RG against us. Since then he has been decent.

Tony and Googz were not known for giving players kudos outside of their prized boy Long. No, for the most part Tony and Googz were pretty good douchebags with the way they spoke to most of their Oline.

Line man on either side of the ball is the toughest position to play physically. Every lineman I see in retirement can't barely walk and are obease after a few short years. Jake Long had a great run but you can't play at that level for too long. His youth helped him for a while but you start to break down pushing and pulling against 300+ pound men. As great as he was, we never should have drafted him. We were in need of so much more he got burned out. He's got to know he is a shell of what he once was. If he still thinks he's got it , sign a 1 yr deal and prove it.

And I'm sure he flashed that potential and the way he moved, they just didnt follow the theory that I'm talking about, they couldn't see the big picture and the signs it represented, just that he's big and can move..ughhh duh huh..

I'm only basing this convo on if its true, cause to me he has this chance to make something of himself, and like coach turner said, if he doesn't get it this time, with how real turner got with him, that's on him..which means you are child with no depth for becoming a man at this point, if he loses sight of that beautiful wisdom Turner dropped on his ***, he's not worth our time..

I mean the offseason program has begun, players have reported to davie, we should have a damn report on him, because it is very relevant to our situation, and we know what kind of standard has been set for him, I couldn't even imagine how a prof athlete could let himself go in this case.

Lets hope the report is erroneous.

I do not think all the players are at Davie until around April 15th. The ones that aren't though had better be working out someplace as the team checks up on their where abouts and they must report where they are working out. After that the facility, no matter where it is, is called at minimum, weekly by the team to check on progress and the players themselves are called by their position coaches.

My neighbors son is a HS baseball player and he works out at a place called Athletes performance here in Phoenix. He t old me last week he saw Jared Allen, Incognito, and other " really big guys " working out there. Most guys that make home outside of Florida all do this until its time to report. From what I hear Athletes Performance has places here in AZ, Los Angeles and I think now in Florida.
