Mods here are best in the business. Right now we actually have mods from one of the largest forums in the world shadowing us so they can be better trained. Outside groups always trying to pick our brains.

I think he means lack of interest in college players in Sou Fla before last year. Guys like Sam Shields and TY Hilton.

Here is what bothers me with this, when players screw up, they get cut ask Benny Sapp

Our GM is saying he screwed up, and there is no consequence, which imo means he needs to get his **** straight like right now and rectify the situation.

Or if he ends up paying the price for his ineffectiveness it will be after a significant opportunity with draft picks and cap room , where he may yet again be "inneffective" . Nice to be entrusted.

    I don't know man. 72 catches at 19.2 a pop and 8 TD's?

That's essentially what we're hoping for when we pay Wallace. I think that'd be a great ROI.

It seems to me you may be taking that statement too literally or too seriously. I don't think anyone is really unwilling to share info for fear that they'll be attacked or criticized. Least of all CK.

If we sign Wallace and he gave us 72 for 1382 and 7-8 Tds we'd all have a merry xmas and be beating our meat. No matter the size of the contract.

Yep, this is why he has to get it done this offseason or really, he should be fired.

A mea culpa means nothing at all unless it is accompanied with improved performance

Not disparaging the site or the job the moderators do. It's just a fact of life. It's a tiresome subject matter full of recycled arguments. A new tidbit of information is brought up and it fits within the construct of tired old arguments. Out come the people who pretend you and everyone who argues what you are arguing are the absolute stupidest, most wrong-headed people alive. Out come the insults, the eye rolling, the sarcastic GIFs, accusations of this or that. Out come the cherry pickers who pick out one or two things you said 5 years ago that turned out to be wrong, and then just to defend yourself you've got to do loads of research and digging through old posts to find the context, and to bring up the dozens of things that you simultaneously got extraordinarily correct at the same time. Oh but that's on topic. After all we're talking about Jeff Ireland's ability to run a team so that means deep exploration, cherry picking and out-of-context quoting and paraphrasing of everything you said over the last 7 years is clearly on topic within a discussion of whether Jeff Ireland made a mistake or not, right?

It's tiresome. I don't feel like doing the work. It's become a scorched-earth topic. An elephant's graveyard. Is what it is.

I don't see what the big deal is. Being caught off guard by Jackson & Garcon's contracts (just as many teams were) is much better than flat out ignoring the position. Then to make up for missing out in FA we tried trading for Jeremy Maclin (which fell through) and Nate Washington. It doesn't make it feel any better than we had crap at WR last year, but at least his head was in the right place.

Sometimes I think people forget there's 31 other teams in this league competing for a limited amount of resources, and in order to have gotten Jackson last year we would've had to come to the table with an offer even greater than the lucrative one TB offered. Seriously, we were fresh off a $47 million contract dished out to Brandon Marshall, which I'm sure we were thinking was a fairly accurate benchmark for V Jackson, so it's quite easy to see how we came in under the $55 million Tampa offered the 29 year old. If we had dished out $56 million ($26M guaranteed) to a receiver who'll be spending four of his five contract years at 30 years and older, I would've flipped a switch. After missing out on our top target, Jackson, it obviously was too late to get on the Garcon train considering he signed with Washington as soon as FA opened.

Yeah, I didn't mean to insinuate anything about the mods.

I'm frustrated with the posters who have guys like CK deciding its not worth the b.s. to share an opinion.

If anything, the mods are doing a great job considering the posters. lol.

Anyways, I like CK's insights and it bothers me that we miss out on his viewpoint on this.

Belichick is just a great football coach. Dislike him as a person, but great coach.

The year he won 11 games without half his dang starters... amazing.

Personally, I'm encouraged that Jeff Ireland allegedly wants to invest significantly into guys whose job is to move the ball and score touchdowns.

He may or may not fit. He may or may not be a one-trick pony. But Mike Wallace has somehow managed to score 32 TD's in four seasons. Somehow he has 27 plays over 40 yards.

You want speed and big plays, there it is.

This is the new NFL. One that favors passing. You want the league's premier deep threat, you're going to pay for him. Whether you draft him or acquire him via trade or the open market, his second contract is going to be massive.

I also agree that the 3-day window further levels the playing field for less-capable GM's. It also stands to benefit the players, as guys like Wallace will have three days to pit Miami against Minnesota in an escalating bidding war, while giving him the opportunity to solicit third parties like New England to swoop in and cause panic.

FWIW, I like Stephen Ross in a **** measuring contest. Ziggy Wilf has flirted with moving to LA. Stephen Ross longs to throw money on players despite half-empty stadiums. I also like South Beach's odds with a wealthy 26-year old athlete.

Gawd, I so wanted us to hire him back in the late 90s. I mentioned it several times in Curt Fennell's email discussion group. There was this one know-it-all member who always responded insisting Belichick was a good DC but not head coach material. I wonder what that guy would say now. I remember his name plain as day, just probably better not to post it here...

Sorry bout that, it's been fixed.

I guess I am one of the few that likes Irish's approach last year. You do what you can to acquire talent but not over pay for someone to the point that it might cripple future efforts. That is a strategy for cap problems. Now where I MIGHT have a problem after this years draft is if we dont take care of the WR shortage AND do nothing in FA, because of the money. The draft can fix our problems at WR, THIS YEAR, especially with the amount of picks we have. Get the TE and another 2 or even 3 WR's that fit because THEY wont be able to demand that ridiculous amount of money.

Certainly don't blame you for having that opinion. Outside of a select few, it's gotten pretty impossible to have a civilized discussion on this board about certain topics. Just know that for everyone who harasses you there are plenty of us who really enjoy hearing your opinion. I come here for that, not the sarcastic gifs or snarky comments. So keep up the good fight.

Most people can't accept criticism. Its harassment to them. I don't see why anyone would be afraid to speak their mind because of anything another poster said. That's saddening.

If your opinion isn't popular, you'll get a lot of back lash. Back in the day people were killed over less. It's human nature, but always speak your mind and fight for what you believe in.

My argument against Ireland's biggest critics are that I haven't seen a good arguement. Some good examples, sure. Could be applied to any team. I think Many who complain of backlash are really just begging for it with lazy slander most the time and no facts to back anything up. Ck,aside, is of course a legendary dolphin fan as far as I'm concerned and I think he's right as much as any gm in this league. But hell even if everyone else agrees with him but I don't, I'll debate.

Imo That's because they're are great members that aren't VIP that reside in the main forum, so I can only speak for myself, but what's goin on in the club at this point doesn't matter, it always has a way of coming back around that makes it valuable, I just don't want to isolate some of my friends, I will always give this site my club membership fees, (and recommend everyone do the same because of how great this site is relative to others) but really it's all good, it's a win win.

I hope CK doesn't truly feel that way..
