Jeff Darlington just reported on Twitter, Hartline just signed his deal. 5 years, nearly $31 million,
The word "nearly" makes it sound decent. Less than 6 a year w prob some of it in incentives isn't bad.
Dolphins re-signed WR Brian Hartline to a five-year, $30.775 million contract. - PFT/Rotoworld Very tolerable number for an impending FA. A bit higher then I'd have liked but still not bad.
So all that *****ing about a $7M a year deal is moot now huh? $6M is a very fair deal. We need to wait to see the breakdown to see just how fair though. I'm guessing not a lot on the front end.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2013/03/07/dolphins-keep-brian-hartline/ 12.5 mil guaranteed... This should make for a good thread. EDIT: didn't mean to double post boik... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
5 years $30.77 million with $12.5 million guaranteed. No word on whether there is an additional signing bonus or whether it's all in guaranteed portions/option bonuses etc Waiting for the actual breakdown though cause for all we know it could be a 2 or 3 year deal disguised as a 5 year etc.
Agreed. I like the signing. If anything, it's good for Tannehill to have a WR on the team he is comfortable with.
The good news is that when he goes to deposit the check, he won't be able to make it farther than 10 yards from the front door.
Yah this is where it gets tricky though. How much is a signing bonus....are there any option bonuses? Or is it just straight up guaranteed salaries?
worst part about this dumbass deal is now after we sign Wallace we won't draft Patterson in the 1st. This is just like 2010....why draft Dez Bryant to play opposite Marshall when we have the almighty Hartline?!
LOL! That is one of the all time weirdest .GIFs Anyway, Hartline. Great signing. Give Ireland an extension, ASAP.
Maybe you're always disappointed because you always count your chickens before they hatch. Edit: Also, Hartline needs a nickname, Hartron just won't do.
Well.... now that we got the scoring aspect locked down, who we gettin' to move the chains and stuff?
Eh, its not that bad. Hartline is tolerable as a #2. Get Wallace, draft a Terrence Williams or a Tavon Austin with the 1st of our 2 #2's and maybe a Bailey with our 2nd 2? Move Bess for pick(s)?
There are a lot of good WRs in this draft. If the Dolphins add Wallace or Jennings and draft any one (or two) of Patterson, Allen, Williams, Bailey, Hopkins, Hunter, Austin, Patton, Wheaton, Stills, Swope, or Wilson I will be very happy with our WR corps going into this season and beyond.
This should be his theme song when he runs out on the field on gameday : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=195zuHUgpbo
See I dont love all those options. Only actually really see about half of them as fits. And would much rather Wallace over Jennings. Not even a debate imo. Id ever rather have Hartline over Jennings at this stage for reasons Ive mentioned in other threads regarding Jennings age and declining production.
Hartline and Bess is pretty brutal. "_______*" and Hartline I like. I expect Ireland to use a 2nd on a WR this year, because of the value and potential to move Hartline inside a year or two.
I'll wait to see the full contract, but I'm not disappointed... had a feeling this was coming. You don't take away the best receiver we have from a rookie quarterback and expect that quarterback to continue his onward trend in the second year. So I see this more of a positive for Ryan Tannehill.
I like how Rotoworld already says we overpaid without having the rest of the numbers They just love to take shots at Ireland.
