lol. I've never actually heard him speak in his regular accent, I just thought I heard him referred to as an Aussie.

More mind blowing to me, is that Peter Dinklage (the imp from Game of Thrones) is American.

Ya I lived in England for several years and after a while you can pick out the subtle differences between English (though i catch all the English accents while I lived there) / Aussie / South African accents.

As for last weeks episode, I was surprised as well at how few weapons and ammo he took, but have a feeling he will be heading back to Morgan's place to bring him back to prison. Good to see Morgan back on the show, sad he lost his boy, but I think it will be beneficial for both Rick and Morgan. They will come to terms with their losses together and become stronger for the group.

There was some midseason preview that showed him looking down the scope of a sniper rifle.

    He's coming back. Believe it.

Yup. Terrible episode. The best part was Daryl and Martinez have a dick measuring contest killing zombies...

AMC has done nothing but **** this show over from a quality standpoint after season 1, starting with firing Frank Darabont because he wouldn't stand for slashing the budget in half (highest rated show in cable history). FD had a real vision for this show (his season 2 opener would of been EPIC, so pissed!) and is a tremendous writer/show runner. It was a massive mistake losing him. At least from a quality standpoint. Rating wise, they're still pulling in big. But people are stupid, so...

TWD really needs a budget increase so they can move around a bit... Dragging out these 6 volume, 30 page comics into 16 episodes is beyond idiotic. Season 2 had it's moments, but it dragged too long. That search for Sophia felt like it lasted for 4 months. They spent too much time on the farm. Season 3 is more of the same. Spent too much time at the prison. Honestly, the first 6-7 episodes were good. Action packed, story progression, character progression, etc... Like season 2, it stalled out midway through and got boring (I did enjoy last weeks episode though). We don't need to waste 45 minutes building up for war with ridiculous dialog. And next week looks boring as **** too. The finale will likely be sweet, but the road getting there is killing me.

Also, Rick needs foil. Merle needs to stick around to replace Shane as the wild card. Seriously, season 3 would of been better with Shane. I hate saying that too, because they did a fantastic job with his death, IMO.

This show needs to go back to 13 episodes. Maybe less, honestly. 13 is max. And story lines should be split up better. Season 2 should of been 6-8 episodes dealing with the farm, cutting out the filler, and the 6-7 episodes should of shown the 10 months on the road. Really seeing these characters struggle with survival in a zombie infested world. Always on edge. Always on the breaking point. Demonstrate the character progression. Not just revist those moments with "we became battle tested" and other BS quotes. I want to see it. The prison could of been introduced as part of the finale, with Lori dying. Woodbury could of been involved as a cliffhanger in someway (like how Lost introduced the Hatch at the end of season 1).

But no, No budget for a show getting 16+ million viewers. **** you, AMC.

I thought the episode was fine. After last week's fantastic episode, there is going to be some let down. I'm not quite sure if I like how they start off certain episodes. You come into a show thinking you're going to see it start one way and they totally surprised you with something that leaves you thinking, did I just miss an episode?

It was a pretty slow episode, not great episode by any means. There are only 3 more episodes left in this season, so the next 3 should be action packed. The last 3 episode titles are very interesting.

Not sure if all yall know the last episode's title is Welcome to the Tombs, can't wait to see if they are talking about the bowels of the dungeon. Next week is Prey and the one before season ending is This Sorrowful Life

No, this show tries to be about character development. It fails, more often than not."Clear" was the best episode of the season and hit the mark. The guy who wrote that is the new showrunner for season 4, so I'm kind of excited.

Look at the characters. Who's developing? The show did a terrible job with the Governor. He has no real motivation for anything he does (Aside for killing Machonne). The show staight up ruined the best villain of the comic. I'm not usually one of those people who believes you must stick to source material (love the way they handled Shane for example), but the Governor is... Boring. Sucks, I like the actor and think he has potential.

Season 3 showed NOTHING of what happened after the farm. Little lines here and there about being "battle tested" and the difficulty, but it's a terrible character development because it took place off-screen. Hershel, Beth, Carol, etc.. Useless. At least Hershel is kind of Rick's angel on his shoulder, I guess. Glenn evolved a little. Still being a whinny ***** ever since meeting Maggie. Speaking of, what development has she had? Daryl has had little to do with anything this year, which sucks out loud. Standing up to his brother was the only real meat we got. Rick went "crazy" or something... That was pretty bad. While the comic had similar issues, they didn't drag it out like this. Andrea, who become one of the stars this season is still a nitwit extraordinaire, no development. Still the same goofy and pouty look on her face. Michonne, the best female character, finally has a few lines. That's about it for her...

Most of the development either took place off screen (doesn't count) or is left to the viewers imagination. The first half of the season was pretty good. The second has had no direction whatsoever. Just filler episodes and the badass "clear" episode with Morgan. Season 1 was pretty fantastic. Season 2 was slow at times (The Sophia scavenger hunt took way too long), but finished really strong. Season three kept up the intensity, despite ignoring the "10 months on the road", and had a good start. Has gone to **** since...

I'm not seeing the development. At least, the good and fascinating kind (Breaking Bad anyone?).

yeah great stuff last night. Finding yourself rooting for Merle was impressive. I only got thru about 20 minutes of the Talking Dead last night, but those first 20 minutes were great too. They had Nicontero (sp) the Director of last night's episode on, he was great. I could listen to him talk all day.

Was not expecting any finger biting from the Guv'na, lol. I'm glad Merle let Michonne go before he busted in there.
I wonder how giant of a cliff they'll leave us hanging on after next week's season finale.

Great last 10 minutes to that episode. Should have guessed as soon as Merle had a lot of speaking time in the episode that he wasn't going to make it out of it! I liked the character though, and wish he'd have stuck around for a bit longer.

Wonder how Daryl's going to take his death, will he fall back in with his new "family" or will he blame Rick for talking to Merle about the deal and asking him to help?

Daryl had me tearing up last night, ****ing great acting, his emotion was not forced at all.....was very genuine. Dead silence in my house, my wife and I just watched the emotion flow....it was a great ending to the episode. Sad about Merle, glad he changed before he went out.

Have a feeling Tyronne helps the prison gang next week. They seemed to foreshadow it a bit as they were leaving woodbury they looked at eachother (the black couple) like "wtf, this is crazy"

    We'll see.

I think you're right though. Tyrese and his sister are def. not down with the Governor. And once they find out what's going on, they're not going to sit tight. Should be a good season finale.

He let a black girl he had been hunting for months, go free. Daryl knows Merel obviously changed for the better a little bit. Even if it was just not being racist anymore.

Well, Merle was getting his *** beat before the Governor even threw a punch. Then, he dislocated Merle's sword hand right away. One on one w/ no crew, Merle wins. Got lucky that kid stepped right in front of the Governor.

Actually, Merle's plan was pretty genius. Shame that he didn't have Rick and co. backing him up.
