I mentioned him in the franchise tag thread. I thought we could be interested, and that was before Spencer got tagged.

So I think it probably might be a good idea to post the recent releases and discuss it here instead of individual threads for each one:

The Chiefs released RT Eric Winston
The Packers released CB/S Charles Woodson
The Panthers released CB Chris Gamble
The Cardinals released S Adrian Wilson
The Steelers appear to be likely to cut OLB James Harrison
The Chargers have released S Atari Bigsby
The Jaguars released S Dawan Landry

The one among them I wouldn't have really expected is Adrian Wilson. I don't know how he played in the other games but he was really good in the game against us. He wasn't the reason Hartline and Tannehill had a great day. Kerry Rhodes was the guy who screwed up the coverage on that 80 yard touchdown to Hartline. Adrian Wilson very nearly managed to stop Hartline 5 yards shy of the end zone, even though he started off with an awful disadvantage.

He's probably looking at starting somewhere else so I doubt you can convince him to play nickel safety in Miami.

John Abraham first visiting the Seahawks and now the 49ers are lining up.

I think we're going to regret not getting involved in that one.

Speculation relayed by rotoworld but if those numbers are anywhere close to reality then helllll no to Cook w all the other options out there.

Jordan Shipley didn't get tendered. I know we have Bess but Shipley could be a really nice upgrade and possible KR/PR behind Thigpen.

    Price should be pretty reasonable.

There's so many options other than Cook and I think there's a pretty comparable range of ability between the options. There's enough guys I'm not even sure how you rank them.

I'd sign Woodsen and let Clemons walk.

I would have signed Eric Winston the day after he was cut.

The way you guys feel about Eric Winston, I feel about John Abraham. Just makes too much sense.

I'd rather keep Abraham at DE to be honest.... especially at his age.

I am sure I like Bennett more than Cook. I believe he will turn 26 this weekend.

It's better to get Hartline at $6 mil, duh!
Of course, Shipley at $10 mil and Hartline at $6 mil = Beasting!

Looks like Bennett is getting out of NY, but if Cook really wants 8-10 I can only imagine that Bennett will price himself out of our range.

    Meyers, Keller, Walker it is.

I like him as a prospect, but what exactly has Jared Cook proved so far?

The only thing I know for sure is that he should be much better than he is. This isn't the draft where you overpay for some guy's ceiling, this is free agency.

That $8-10 mil is Armando Salguero's speculation. Has nothing to do with reality.

Dunta Robinson just signed with K.C. I'd assume that takes them out of the running for Smith.

I see this thread as a "Who we should sign" type of forum so in the Other NFL forum I posted a Free Agency signing thread to keep track of all the players get signed somewhere. I feel it would be best in the Dolphins main forum page due to convenience if a mod would be as to kindly move it. Please and Thank you.

Gibson wouldn't exactly bring speed to the offense

So, mommabilly read the same site you did. He said he is pretty sure Jeff has contacted Gibson's agent.

That is right. He isn't fast, but he has great hands. We'd still need some speed in the WR corps.

Correct, Gibson is not a speed burner but if you throw it at him he catches it and then holds onto it. What a concept,eh ? :)

With exception of Wallace costing a lot I would love to see

    Hartline to sideline
    Gibson to other sideline
Bess, pick where you want to send him
Fasano over the middle about 11 to 15 yards and
Wallace burning turf straight down the field
Question, if you are a DC how the hell do you cover all of the above and like I said, with exception of Wallace they are all affordably in a great price range.

Ross was a starter several years for the Giants. Former 1st rounder. Landry is the older brother of Laron Landry. Decent safety IMO. Used to start for the Ravens before he went to Jax.
