If this is true, i dont think we are retaining Long, i think Martin would play LT and Winston RT

Dolphins considering multi-year offer to O-Tackle Eric Winston. Only fit for ZBS in Tackle FA Group. Rosenhaus wants 3-4 years at 7 M per.

Interview on sirius today. Was Ben Volin interview. He said they were interested very much in bringing Long back, but at 8 million a year, not 10-11 million a year.
I hope they stick to their guns

that corresponds pretty well to what I just regurgitated from radio. If they can get Winston for 7million, it just makes too much sense than to pay Long 10+ million. that extra 3-4 million will come in real handy.

Double fist pump for the simplicity of the crushing counterargument.

Incarcerated Bob started a looooooong time ago on WFAN radio NY. The guy is a pinhead and just reports what is being reported someplace else. Supposedly Violin said on radio we were trying to keep Long. I know a few of his Oline mates have been trying to keep him here too.

Glad they ain't the same person. DCH was a likable cuss from my point of view. Kind of miss the guy. He was always posting some sort of supposed inside info. Some folks here didn't like him though.

He had a memorabilia shop that dolphin players frequented , and he got some information that way , at least that is how he presented it.

I recall something like that too, then he just seemed to sort of vanish.

Yeah , he had a shop in the Aventura Mall I believe ,popped on with nuggets periodically and then poof ... of course with a name like dirty cash and holding lol , well disappearing would not surprise me . For whatever the reason.

    Incarcerated Bob is a fraud.

That said it would be nice if this rumor were true. Too many are selling too quickly on Jake, and that could include the rest of the NFL, which means he may come back at a nice discount.

bob is a fool. he is wrong 99% of the time, but he did get manning to broncos right(probably a guess).

That was just logical. The Broncos had the most cap space, and guess where Peyton ends up? With the team most able to afford his $20 mil/yr salary.

Im not really feeling Winston for 7. Id much rather 5.5 per at 3 than 7 per at 4.

If your signing Winston at 7 then your totally insulting Jake for wanting ten...Drew can piss off on that.

But we can waste cap space no problem? I just will never understand that logic.

Just about anything is better than Parcells offering up $42 million to Vernon Carey.

obviously they can, and I already said Martin probably will (he was so bad there's really nowhere to go but up). but my point still stands, if he wasn't so lousy this year the front office/coaching staff would have more confidence in him being our LT of the future and could therefore pass on paying big bucks for Long. even if they let Long walk which is likely at this point, they'll still probably go after a Sam Baker or a Bushrod to keep Martin on the right side.

I will be very surprised if Bushrod leaves the Saints.

Philbin had some positive things to say about him since the end of the season. Incognito played his best 4 game stretch the final 4 games, when Martin was the LT. I think the plan all along when he was drafted was that Long would be too expensive to resign and Martin would be the contingency plan. I expect we move him over, count on his getting stronger this off season, and improving, and picking up a right tackle in free agency or the draft.

I hope its true, I think if we can keep Long and draft a few olinemen to develop we might just have a good oline next year. Hopefully Martin is working hard this offseason to improve, if Jake is healthy and Martin is better our line could actually be really good. I'd like to keep Incognito though.
