Yesterday morning I was very concerned after essentially everyone and their mother reported that Mike Wallace to Miami is a done deal. I said to my friend that this guarantees he will be a Viking.
I got even more concerned when Percy Harvin was traded away.

Come 4pm today I fear Wallace will be wearing purple (no we are not integrating purple into our new uniforms.)

We have all talked about Jennings for months now, but there were a couple of interesting tenders placed on players.

Danario Alexander RFA Tendered with original value (Undrafted.) I am not sure why SD did this. It does not seem to make much sense to tender Alexander with the original value, meaning no draft pick has to be given if SD declines to match the offer sheet. I really do not have a idea of what Alexander could be had for. But he played very well last year, when given the opportunity catching 36 balls for 624 yards and six touchdowns in nine games. His major downside is that he is always hurt, and has had previous knee injuries.

Emmanuel Sanders RFA (3rd Round Tender): Sanders is a relatively speedy (4.41) but undersized WR (5'11") . He comes with a bit pricey 3rd round tender. The other nice thing is the Steelers are in salary cap hell, so likely would not be able to match an offer for him. He has been stuck behind some very good WRs in Pittsburgh, but its hard to say if he would be able to excel on his own or not. May be worth the gamble. Maybe 3 mil a year?

Victor Cruz (1st Round Tender): This is the big fish. I highly doubt going after Cruz is an option seeing we would be signing him to a large contract and have to give up a 1st rounder. He is an excellent slot receiver with big play potential, who can also play outside. I assume the Giants used this to try to set the market for Cruz to sign him to a contract. I don't see them letting him get away. But it is a name.

Sorry if the names have been discussed elsewhere (threads are enormous), just wanted to submit for discussion.

Victor Cruz is a no brainer IMO. Extremely rare a WR this talented is available, either in FA or the draft.

DX is the only one with value.

Sure Cruz would be nice but for our 1st no thanks. Not unless we could trade way back in the 1st round.

I sure did. That would be a record or something.

    Thanks for catching it.

I like DX as a complementary piece to the big fish (Wallace, Jennings, Cruz, Patterson, Allen, etc), but not if he's the only guy we get. That'll be a fail, because with our luck, he'll get hit once and shatter.

Out of curiosity, what if we were to trade our 1st for someone else's 2 seconds, and then go for Cruz? Would the Giants get the first of our 2nd's, our 1st next year, or would we be prohibited from making a claim?
