I so much despise cold weather. Even when I was young it was no fun. I can remember trying to dig out of a snow drift along some back country Wyoming road so I could put on chains when it was like 10 degrees outside. I had foolishly thought I could take this one shortcut without chains or studs. The folly of bygone youth. One other time we jumped out of the pickup when we saw some ducks land on a creek on the other side of snow covered field. We were just gonna sneak across really quick and shoot them when they came off the water. In our haste, my friend and me didn't put on our gloves. It would have been ok, except after getting those 4 ducks, we fell in the snow a few times getting back to the pickup. My hands were so frozen stiff, I could barely push the button on the door handle to open the door or turn the key to start the engine. Luckily I did, and we sat there and thawed ourselves out for about 15 minutes with our hands up by the defrost vent. It must have been no colder than about 10 degrees that day. The one saving grace in that country was it was also about zero humidity. The air was just bone dry even though it was bitterly cold.
What season did Wallace have 4 TDs only? His four seasons in the league he's had 6, 10, 8, and 8 TDs.
And when Shula "won" that offseason we went 9-7, allowed over 300 yards rushing in our lone playoff game, he "retired" and Jimmy Johnson had to let Troy Vincent walk because we were in cap hell.
Mmmmmm jump shooting ducks. Had some good times myself doing that. Oh and to keep this post on point Mike Wallace blah blah blah money blah blah blah :-)
Hush you! No need to bring up such dark times. I remember going into that season all jacked up, we had like 500 former 1st rd picks on that team.
I love the cold and the snow, love to ski and snowshoe, nothing like cooking a steak in a snowstorm in the quiet with flakes falling down, love walking late at night during a storm with my wife and dog. Don't get me wrong, I like summer also, but winter is awesome.
Yes, while it is true that generally the team that signs the biggest free agents don't make the playoffs the following year, doesn't mean that over paying for a receiver who will have to increase his production by 150% to come close to justifying his paycheck a bad idea.
I had many a great time in all the seasons when I was up there. My favs were always Summer/Fall. Not sure I'd be able cope with the Winters anymore. That's when I enjoy Florida, although it's still a weird feeling around Christmas time without snow.
@AdamSchefter Dolphins and Mike Wallace are negotiating a five-year deal that one source familiar with the talks said is "very, very likely" to get done
