So we go Patterson at 12 if he is there? Make this Offense very dangerous? Since he has size and speed.
13 million is a lot of money. A lot of money. I'm guessing the leak earlier about the Vikings and 13 million was done in an attempt to make that 13 million number a bit more palpatable to some of the more cautious Dolphin fans out there. Personally, I've always preferred that we split that up between a couple of players (Jennings +), but I understand the need to make a big, splashy move at the start of Free Agency. Now that it sounds like Wallace is going to be a Dolphin, I hope that he shows up for work ready to earn every cent of that paycheck - and starts working out and catching passes from Tannehill tomorrow.
Sure, if he can play corner, safety, right tackle or rush the passer. Drafting a receiver at #12 would be idiotic.
Lets see Mike Wallace holding that New Dolphins Jersey and Logo!!! Lets really set this day off!!! Freaking awesome though!!!
It's starting to paint a picture of a GM saving his job with short term signings and a ticking timebomb for down the road, circa 2015-2016.
me too… I would give Jake ONE dollar… a crisp one none the less. If he doesnt take that offer he can go else where!
The money for Wallace is OK with me b/c IMO it's necessary for the bigger picture of Ireland's plans to reface the offense. Wallace alone at that price sounds like a lot..... but when you're suddenly looking at Wallace, Cook, and Tavon Austin for instance, that suddenly becomes a dangerous unit, and IMO he's putting the money into the unit not the receiver.
Now would be a good time to release the logo. Dolphin fans are the happiest now, if its terrible, they wont care or notice
Hes a phin now. Might as well embrace it and hope he does the right thing with that fat payday and tear it up.
Dolphins agreed to terms with WR Mike Wallace on a five-year contract that includes $30 million guaranteed. Rotoworld. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nfl/257672/dolphins-wallace-negotiating-5-year-contract Ouch lots of cash this kid better deliver the good in bunches...
I am not sold on any pass rushers in this draft that would be around at 12, we dont need to select a right tackle at 12. Corner sure, safety? depends on who is there at 12. Its not like 12 has to be any of those, weapons are weapons. I am happy as long as 12 isnt oline again.
If Ireland doesnt sign Wallace he cant close the deal. He has no people skills… yada yada yada.. Jeff cant win for losing
That's exactly what it is, but our fans are blinded by all flash and little substance right now. The Dolphins are making decisions the way a fan would make them, and this has Stephen Ross's fingerprints all over it.
Who cares anout the price, fact of the matter is we just landed one of the biggest playmakers in the league! GREAT day to be a Dolphins fan!!!!
Is there never someone whining about any move? Team has possibly 40+ mil in cap space and a crap load of picks. What are they to do, sit on the money? Load up on a bunch of midrange free agents and then have the picks ride the bench for the next couple year?
