There is a raw number, then there is the effective number and it takes a long time to find out what it actually costs.

If Ireland lands Wallace, Cook, Casey and then drafts Tavon Austin (after taking Tanny 1st last year), how many anti-Ireland people will change their tune?

I saw it on a site that had already factored in the details of the Starks tag and Hartline/Moore

OmarKelly If Mike Wallace was given $30M guaranteed the only WRs he trails is Calvin Johnson (60M) and Andre Johnson (48M) in guaranteed money. · reply · retweet · favorite
finsjesse MT @JeffDarlington Wallace is indeed on the verge of becoming a Dolphin, Im told. He's taking physical. The sides have reached an agreement 2 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite
BenVolinPBP So Wallace arrives at #Dolphins facility right after 4 pm to take a physical and sign a contract. I'd say that qualifies as a "done deal" 3 minutes ago · reply · retweet · favorite
OmarKelly Numbers magically change when the deal becomes reported. The most important

Barry Jackson### The agents for several prominent free agent cornerbacks and offensive tackles say Miami hasn’t made an aggressive effort to sign them, which suggests that the Dolphins want final decisions from Sean Smith and Jake Long before they move on to other options. Long is visiting the Rams tonight.

Skill position needs are being addressed first. Mike Wallace is in Miami this afternoon getting a physical, and the Dolphins continue to make a push to sign Tennessee tight end Jared Cook. (I'll be covering the Heat game tonight, but Armando and Adam Beasley will have updates throughout the night.)

Went into period with closer to 31 million. Still have serious money to look at other positions. Bare in mind that Long, Fasano, Smith, and possibly others will likely be gone.

    Canada EH!
I like Austin, but his size in the nfl with nfl corners covering him worries me. Not sure he has the size str to catch contested balls, but once he does catch it, wow!

Hopefully he is our Paul Warfield.

If Jake walks we will pick up a Tackle, aand my favorite specialist passrusher, Phillip Hunt will be out of favor in Philly

    He is a 4-3 end

OmarKelly I'm sorry....Dolphins might sign a cornerback/safety. IF we connect the dots that sounds like a certain Heisman Trophy winner.

Dolphins seem to be expected to put the full court press on Jared Cook.

I wish it had been Martellus Bennett.

Heres what I just heard..and it makes sense to me...

You have a WR now...that a CB cannot cover on his own.....you sign Cook..and you have a TE that cant be covered by a LB on his own. Gonna be lots of openings for Hartltine..Bess...Miller...
