Myers is a one yr guy on a dreadful Raiders team, it makes me wonder if he was their only real option and he had inflated numbers b/c of it.

 

Agreed. I will always remember his Touchdown he made against the jets in 2008 last game of the season, to go to the playoffs.. I was at that game, and at the endzone he caught it. Always liked him

Keller is more of a mid range weapon in the passing game who can go down field which is what we need

Not if his contract demands were serious, he is old and injury prone. Hard to pay him like that. He will sign once market sets for him and he see's he wont get top dollar.

I think it is the other way around. Fasano is an every down TE who can block and catch passes. Keller is more of the specialist #2 guy. And over the last 5 years (Keller's career and Fasano's time in Miami) they have the same ypc (11.9), so Keller really hasn't been much more of a downfield receiver. He's faster, but that hasn't translated into a whole lot of downfield plays.

I watch a lot of raider games, he's a pretty good payer..nifty in route, good hands, shows toughness and smarts..I would say you get more from the passing game than Fasano, and less in blocking..pretty even split.

 

His ypc his first 4 years were about the same. And it's not like Fasano has had elite QB play here.

Fasano was basically a "block down, go out on short route vs Lb, catch ball, play over" type, Keller has more flexibility.

Thought not the blocking of course, but cook is not being looked at as a blocker either

I wonder if the Mike Wallace/Greg Jennings reports aren't true, and they're trying to use Gibson as leverage. It wouldn't have been the most logical thing three days ago, but Jennings at least from our perspective isn't getting any action, and Ireland might be in a position to drive a hard bargain on a guy said he wanted to be here.
