Nice signing here. Id be cautious though, the guys was playing along side all that defensive talent in Baltimore. Remove him from that and lets see what we got. I do like it though... on paper so far.

Hopefully Dansby will move outside and it will be Misi who is traded or cut. Unfortunately Dansby is the one with the huge contract, so it just might be him who is shown the door.

Even with us eating a lot of cap Dansby would still cost another team $6M this year and $9M next year I believe so yes, too expensive to trade.

I'd be really curious to see down and look at how Ellerbe is in coverage the next couple days. That's really the major concern to me, he's a good run defender and blitzer but there's a pretty high standard for coverage in terms of shoes for him to fill.

That's true, but I'm not sure how much this effected him. Dansby seemed to play pretty comparably this year to the two years prior here.

I disagree that Burnett outplayed Dansby last season. Dansby was very good. Some may quibble whether he was as good as his contract, but there's little question that he was very good and our best LB.

Why would we trade him, his cap number? I think we can manage, for this year at least. I'd rather plug all three of them in, use Misi for depth/ST, continue developing/drafting youngins and have one the best LB corps in the business. To go along with one of the best DL in the business.

 

Burnett is a ******* warrior. Sometimes it looks like he can barely walk, has a constant hitch in his get along, but he's always out there playing. I'll be bummed if Burnett is cut.

 

Dansby to Misi's OLB position(not sure what the best terminology for it would be) would work I think, as he's played a similar position before but it's a bit expensive for a linebacking core.

 

No we will still have a lot of space this year.

Next year, not so much.
