Fellas, this is why I never blame an athlete for going for the top $$$ they can get. Teams hold all of the cards, and Burnett was highly PFF rated as well, or is that PFF..T?

Pro Football Focus @PFF Dolphins defense getting more aggressive. Picked up two of the better blitzing linebackers in the league. Really attack QB with intent Love it.
The writing was on the wall once Wheeler was signed. There's a point where trying hard doesn't compare to athleticism and youth. Just ask Zach Thomas (that hurt to write, by the way).
Right now, the linebackers are: SLB - Koa Misi MLB - Dannell Ellerbe (get ready for that name to be misspelled a bunch) WLB - Phillip Wheeler IMO, Koa Misi's contract is keeping him on the roster at this point. It will not surprise me to see Miami try to find a SLB that can play a role similar to what Von Miller plays as the SLB in Denver's defense. I don't think they would use a high pick on this player, but it may be someone that is considered to be a little raw but a tremendous athlete. Maybe they look at a guy like Sean Porter at some point.
It is beautiful. We remade our linebacking core today, got younger in the process and didn't lose any cap room either. S we can still go out and fill other needs while at the same time we just got better at LB. Ireland is doing amazing work today.
To me it felt like I was always yelling at Burnett on sunday. I thought he was solid in SD but here he always disapointed me.
Do you think Burnett and Dansby are better than Wheeler and Ellerbe? I don't, and the salary difference is minimal. We got younger, faster and better. Net gain may not be as great as it seems, but we're getting upgrades all around.
This looks like a bigger rebuild than I thought it would be. I thought FA would be for offensive starters at Te/OT maybe G. A guy who fits that hybrid role is..Conner Barwin..Boomer's interviewee back in the day.
