Of who is out there I would like to see us go with one of these 3: 1. Dennis Pitta 2. Leonard Pope 3. Ben Watson Watson is the best athlete of the bunch but is in his 9th year. Pope has the size to give us a huge red zone target. Pitta is only going into his 4th year and has huge upside. Ireland needs to make a move on a TE after striking out on Cook. I would be happy with either of these guys.
Brandon Myers is my choice right now, balanced TE with a bad attitude (and I mean that in a good way). Farentz connection.
Myers has been identified as one of the sleepers of the group. I like Davis, the redskin. But I believe the draft is in play here.
Myers is my top choice, but if Fred Davis is healthy I think he is an excellent option. Davis can play at an extremely high level
Seeing as we are apparently against anyone over the age of 29, I'd say Watson has like a 5% chance of being signed by the Dolphins
there should be a good te in the draft still there at our 1st 2nd round pick seems like most likely option
I like the idea of Myers. Under the radar guy. Only played 4 years. 27 years old. His stats were equal with Heath Miller last year. If we landed him, we'd have landed 4 new starters all 27 or under. That would be pretty sick! I'd take Finley for Bess and a 4th rounder. But, Green Bay and Bess? Don't know that that would be a match. If we landed Myers that would free us up to go TE in round 2 and go OG or WR (even after a potential trade down) or possibly a CB like Milliner if he's there, in round 1.
I don't see the love for Brandon Myers. Slow, unathletic, had some garbage time production, I just don't get it. Fred Davis is very interesting to me if his Achilles is healing properly. That's a big IF but at tight end I'm not sure it's the same risk it is for a corner like Brent Grimes who is undersized and made his career on his ability to be faster and more explosive than everyone. Ben Watson is the other guy that intrigues me. Still athletic. Back in the day he ran a 4.4. Probably doesn't run that now but he's still athletic and it shows. He gets the job done and he'll probably be affordable because everyone wants the young guy.
To me, this is just downgrading from Fasano. The very best tight ends are already gone, with Keller being the only interesting option left, at least interesting to me. At this point either you trade for someone or just draft Eifert at 12.
Not sure I agree on Myers, but I agree with you on Davis. I preferably want my tight ends in the draft.
I really think that the team needs to look at Keller. He's fairly young, and a better pass catcher than anyone the team has had at the position in years. We cant go into the draft with the gaping hole at the position that we have right now. Its just too much of a risk. Even with the addition of Wallace, the team still doesnt have a good res zone target.
I agree, I don't get why everyone is wants this guy. I never even heard of the dude until like half way through last season, I wouldn't want him.
Finley... maybe... although having both he and Wallace on the field together is going to infuriate some but energize others.
Team drafts them too late in the draft with the exception of Egnew (just a bad pick being one of those Missouri tes). GI etting one of the top five should be fine. I am hoping Egnew and MMA are good match.
If you want a dynamic presence, there are only two players left that can truly stretch the seam and threaten a defense on the perimeter with matchup difficulty..Finley and Eifert... Sound like a broken record..Eifert is arguably the most impactful weapon in the draft for us, he and Austin in terms of impact are neck and neck to me because of the Wallace prescense, looks like that is becoming the case as the draft shapes up..I think their so close it does give us an option to trade down a bit and be totally fu&$in excited with either one.
If they pick up Keller when he visits the phins will have officially dominated FA in my eyes. Would almost assure Austin @12 as far as im concerned too. Anyone have a slight idea on what keller is lookin to get paid and/or what he previously got?
Would be good to grab Keller. He's eaten our lunch enough over the years. If they don't I think they are going to wait for the draft.
With three TE's signed already does that lower or push his cost higher? Ie how many teams are looking at TE's this FA?
Considering he's being considered AFTER all of them, should be driving the price down, although maybe not drastically edit: not to mention im sure the contract would be riddled with injury outs and stuff same might be said for Jennings at this point....
