If we made it to the AFC Championship game.....would anyone still complain about those numbers?

Could break one of two ways. I mean of course there will be people doing as you say. But the blame could generally either fall on Wallace for being overrated or on the offensive coordinator, or Ryan Tannehill, or the pass protection, or some combination thereof.

That happens with most big ticket FAs. I think Wallace will put up nice numbers but to me, in order to truly justify a $12 million/yr contract, you need to hit something close to 1500 yards and 15 TDs. I d on't think he'll get very close to that. I expect him to get around 1100 and 7.

i guess they assume tannehill will hit the 'sophomore slump' and wallace will drop a few like he did this past season.

Did Bucs fans ***** about Vincent Jackson last year? Serious question. Because as gaudy his numbers are, his utilization rates were only 49%. Meaning, of all the targets he had, he only caught 49%. The year before in San Diego it was also 50%.

All the knocks on Wallace, his hovers around 60% each year and you can't argue it's because of the routes Wallace runs vs. Vincent ;)

I'm sure the presence of Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin in the Draft has absolutely nothing to do with these reports of slot wide receivers in free agency "getting screwed". Nothing at all. :)

Jackson is a pretty good comparison to Wallace. If Wallace puts up the same production as Jackson, that would be great.

And yet just that TD bump alone probably makes us 9-7 not 7-9.

Welker agreed to terms with Broncos according to Schefter.

Should allow NE to re-sign Vollmer now.

If our team got 62.5 catches, 925.5 yards and 6.5 touchdowns out of a third WR last year we'd have been in the playoffs. Just saying.

Assuming we aren't just moving Fasano and Bush's receiving TDs to Wallace. :/

It would. But the one thing with that comparison is Vincent Jackson is HUGE. Would tend to translate better as players age.

Nobody has been able to give him any reason not to. If anyone can be arrogant about personnel it is probably Belichick.

I'm going to hav nightmares about the Pats using their ample stockpile of picks to move up and steal Austin from under our noses.

So the presence of Mike Wallace would have no impact whatsoever on the snaps or targeting of Brian Hartline, Davone Bess and Anthony Fasano? It's just purely additive?

Come on. You're smarter than that.

Sure it might, but there were a lot of yards and TDs left on the field last year. If just a part of those were converted, we'd have been in the playoffs. I mean, I think we all know we played the entire season with really only 2 WRs last year.

And never bet on my intelligence. I do stupid **** everyday.

I gotta tell ya, the way the market is shaping up, we probably could have gotten both Wallace and Jennings for roughly the same price we're paying Wallace and Hartline now. If Welker at 32 is getting a 2 year deal for $6 million per, I'd go 4 for $28 with Jennings.

Hell, I would probably make a run at him even with Hartline
