Sect, you think Spo stops playing starters the moment HEAT clinches the top seed?

Well we pretty much already have top seed in the East locked up already. With 21 games left to go and an 8.5 game lead on the Knicks it would be hard to tank badly enough not to keep it.

We seem to be playing for home court throughout the Finals. If that is the case I wouldn't count on it being a done deal until the last week of the season as The Spurs and Thunder are right there with us.

Ohh, that's right. I knew I was forgetting something lol

As for home court in the Finals...I'm sure I'll be the minority here, but in the 2-3-2 format, I'd rather play the 3 middle games at home.

You're not the first to say that BUT in a tightly contested finals having games six and seven is awful nice. If you can't take one game on the road then you deserve to lose.

In order to beat them they would have had to show up for the game first. Ray Felton shouldnt have even put on a jersey cause he was a freakin disgrace last night. How you leave Steph Curry open and play as damn lazy as Felton did..just pull yourself out instead of embarrassing yourself and the team like that. Carmelo still looked hurt. Not good. Only players that showed up were JR (who got ejected for a flagrant 2...which was BS but thats the least of the problems) and K Mart. Pathetic effort

No trolling intended, but what's going on with your Knicks?

I never felt you were a top tier team, but I thought you guys should be right in there with Indiana for second in the East. The last few times I've seen them they look like the air has been let out.

    Three things:
    1. Woodson doesnt adjust. Teams are simply defending the 3 and doubling Melo and daring someone else to beat them. Ive said secondary scoring was an issue and no one believes me because the efficiency numbers look great but trust me this team struggles to find consistent offense if its not from melo or amare.
    2. Defense. At times theyre just lazy. Not any one player in particular. Tyson, JR and Kmart exempted they just dont play as hard on D as they do on offense (Felton, Amare), simply arent any good on D (Novak) or are rounding in to form from injuries (Shumpert). They rebound but they dont fight over picks regularly, they dont dive on the floor for the loose ball. I really question their toughness in general which is why i like the Kenyon Martin signing so much. Not to say he will do to Lebron what he did to Rudy Gay last year but he can sure make life hell for a Paul George or a Paul Pierce.
    3. Too much Melo. My favorite player's getting too much run and theres too much reliance on him. The last two months his minutes are up in the 40-41 range and his shooting percentage is down as are all his efficiency numbers. The first few months he was playing less but more efficiently. This relates to the first point about the lack of secondary scorers. They play him a lot because they have to.

what has happened to the Knicks is simple. Regression to the mean in 3 pt. shooting...and they never adjusted. It seems that Woody expected them to shoot that way all year.

I like their Def. Reb. numbers, and their Def. Eff is improving.

Not hard to see what is wrong though....they take care of the ball..they rebound the ball on the Def. Boards well..and they are okay overall defensively.

BUT they rank 29th in assists.

Their offense is selfish and easy to defend. Back to last year.

We lost a great 6th man and Melo is just now returning from 8 days off with injury.

Same opinion I had about a month ago, ill be happy just to make the ECF.

I remember that play vividly because I had been having a gallbladder attack for the previous 4 or 5 hours. For those of you who've had a gallbladder attack, you know the pain is so severe and debilitating that you can't do much more than sit on the couch and wait for the pain to subside.

Anyway, I had been in pain for hours beforehand, and it subsided within 30 seconds of that dunk. That's when I knew that nothing could heal the body, mind, and spirit like watching Kendrick Perkins fail.

Well its not just that its regression to the mean. Regression to the mean has to be expected. Its that Woodson and the Knicks in general are over-reliant on Anthony in iso-sets even though he was more efficient not being in iso sets.

The assists thing is partially a nature of the offense and the age of the team. They dont get a lot of fast break points unless they run with the Felton-Shump-Smith-Melo-Tyson unit. Any of the old guys (Kidd, Kurt, Camby, Prigioni) and the offense grinds to a halt

Even though my Sixers lost, they made the Heat earn that 20th win.

This is what pisses me off about the Sixers. They can play one of the best teams in the NBA tough, but then look absolutely awful against bad to mediocre teams. I don't get it.

I know that, but that wasn't my point. They can have real good games, but then go in the tank for several. Very frustrating as a Sixers fan.

contusion thank goodness. No MRI scheduled last I heard...watching postgame in case theres any change.

On another note Mike Woodson is 55-29 now in his time as a coach. But this is back to back blowouts. They have Portland tomorrow, LAC and Utah left on this trip. Is it conceivable that if they get blown out 2 more times on this trip we see a coaching change? I mean I watched this team vs GS and now Denver and it looks like theyre quitting on him. Theyre not hustling, theyre playing lazy, stupid basketball. Theyre not fighting over picks. Is it conceivable Woodson gets fired? I know its late in the year but its almost like theyre tuned out?
