Pollard was supposedly let go because of character concerns / locker room issues. Cant imagine he ends up here if thats the reason...

Certainly doesn't make sense that BAL let him go over his salary - so what else explains it? IMO - he wont end up here. It'd be exciting if he did, but hes got alot of questions around his character.

Where did you hear that about the locker room issues? Not arguing, just hadn't heard it myself.

I heard Pollard was throwing a fit over the team letting their FA's walk.

Wow, did not know he was such a malcontent. I guess that's why there hasn't been a lot of press about him in FA.

If WE signed Pollard, with a legitimate D (as opposed to the Bills or Jets), the Patsies would be quaking in their boots! Dude is the Patriot killer! LOL! I have a feeling the guy must be pretty unstable though...

I don't know how to feel about SS24 anymore. I thought he played horrible last year, after the Cards game, but we do need bodies. I say get him or another vet and draft a guy or two.

That don't mean anything in the context of this discussion. I think Flutie played LT for the Pats once, lol.

How not? He's played LT before, and he's easily someone who could be considered an OT "tweener" much like Jon Martin.

Not that he would anyway, if even half that article is true, there is no chance Pollard will ever be a Dolphin.

That is one of the things that pissed me off about when they (pats) were thinking about slapping the tag on him, they were going to as a RT, then as soon as he signed it...he was going to waltz right on over to LT....

The franchise tag cost for a RT and LT are the same.

Sean Smith gone to KC. So much for keeping the better of the two CBs.

The run on CBs is over, after Assante and Deangelo Hall etc.

Also, what does that tell us about Smith when nobody wants him.

    Good riddance.

Actually it does. If the Pats see him as a LT so could other teams and last I checked you need to defend both ends from pass rushers.

Keenan Lewis is apparently close to signing a deal with the Saints, bit of a rush on CB's now after the initial slow start!

Uh so what is Miami doing with CBs? I'm very confused here. We let Sean Smith go for a 3 year/18 million/11 deal, which is pretty effin cheap, IMO.

Negotiations son!! Alot of this CB market for Miami also hinges on what Long does, who is stalling everything....

    Getting 'the right guys'.

    1) Coyle's system tends to help so-so CBs play better than usual.
    2) Some say Smith is better as a man-cover corner and we are moving towards more zone
    3) It may also be a locker room personality thing.

The Smith thing feels a bit like the Welker thing. We could have gave him the same money but he just didn't want to come back. I just remember his tweet about it must be nice to be allowed to just play and basically freelance. I don't think he loved the new coaching staff. That's fine. The guy just wan't getting it done for us. Liked to blame others and point fingers when beaten. Bye

Letting all these corners get away is starting to make the good vibes from Tuesday dwindle. Now if Biggers signs, that could change.

Starting a pair of rookies at corner got our defensive coordinator fired the last time we did it.

You don't count on rookie corners. Even when they "flash" they're still playing at an overall awful level. See Janoris Jenkins' metrics.

They need to get at least one. Captain Munnerlyn and E.J. Biggers are both young at 25 and 26 years old, respectively.

We're not. Marshall has one starting spot. At the worst we'll have 1 if we don't sign a CB.

Richard Marshall also played pretty poorly as a perimeter starting corner. Both in Arizona and Miami.

I don't agree that he played poorly in Arizona. He also played well in Carolina.

But he did struggle last season. We'll see what happens but I won't complain if he comes back for one more season.
