33m Marc Deitchman @MarkyMarcWQAM @JForcella @OmarKelly ABRAHAM is here...OMAR.. you know im at the HARDROCK...I see them.. hes with his agent..hopefully visit tommorrow. May be nothing. Just thought I would share it.
From 5 hrs ago - noone else reported this to the best of my knowledge. Miami Sports HQ @MiamiSportsHQ #Dolphins» OLB John Abraham is in Miami with his agent.
I'm sure its true that he's in the city. Doesn't mean the Dolphins will meet with him. Hope they do. Veterans aren't a long term thing, but in the short term can be a great patch while you see if a rookie pans out. Which is why I wouldn't mind Woodson and the drafted CBs. We lack depth anyway.
I like Abraham but be prepared if we sign him that he cant play the run at all and hasnt had an interest in doing so in years. Ditto would go for Osi Umenyoria should we go after him.
This is one heck of a veteran though; 10 sacks last year at 33 or so years of age. ATL has an awfully good secondary so some may be due to coverage, but the guy has been consistent. Not a problem, pop him in on the money down: 3rd down.
One of Irish's consistent faults I think is that he will not sign a guy like Abraham. At least he hasn't historically. He won't sign him because of Olivier Vernon. He seems to believe in Vernon and will see Abraham as someone who will take snaps away from Vernon and stifle his development.
