Yeah that's kinda the way I looked at it too. I wish they would hurry the **** up though because I feel like his decision is limiting our other signings.

Sounds like #Rams & OT Jake Long are hammering out a deal. Could have a resolution soon, barring any snags. They are OK with him medically

Nobody wants to pay Jake Long. The guy is swinging in the wind while teams low-ball him. If STL had a legit offer on the table, he'd have signed by now.

 

We need like 100,000 fans on Twitter to follow CharlieDoodle77 (Charlie is their dog) & MiamiWantJackie to really put the pressure on her and know how much she's wanted in Miami, and that it's not just Jake.

She's following both accounts and has responded a couple times, so she's at least paying attention. Time to give the full court press.

They all laughed at me when I made a thread back in October that there's no way Jake Long should (or would) be re-signed for the type of money he was looking for.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz reports the Rams are in a "holding pattern" with free agent LT Jake Long, and waiting for Long to respond to their offer.

Proposals have been exchanged, now it's up to someone to budge. Most reports have indicated it won't be the Rams, who only want Long at their price. Long's "visit" is turning into an extended stay, but there should be a resolution by Friday. The smart money is on Long leaving South Beach for the Gateway City, but it's not a given.

 

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Dolphins are making a "strong push" to re-sign free agent LT Jake Long.

Long took an extended visit with the Rams this week. He met with the coaches, had a dinner, stayed the night and even passed a physical. But there's no deal yet, which suggests the two sides have been unable to come to terms on a contract. We now appear to be in a "bidding war" situation, something the Dolphins haven't been scared of this week.

 

I wonder what their offer was.

 

I would much prefer to have Long back at LT. Martin at LT scares me to death.

 

I understand that Tannehill is at his best on the run, but he would have to be scared at the thought of Martin at LT as well.

I was against this resign at first but kow I'm all for it. Why? Draft flexibility.

With every passing hour, it looks more and more like Jake won't sign in St Looey and be back in Miami where he belongs.

This is brilliant. We all know our medical staff has been iffy at best, so what do you do? You send Jake to get a physical done by another team, a team that is coached by a guy who held you hostage last year before pulling the rug out from underneath you.

Free medical exam, set the market for our LT AND we get to stick it to Jeff Fisher? This is Ireland's best move yet.
