    Players we let walk:
    Long
    Bush
    Smith

    Top needs:
    CB
    LB/DE
    WR
    RB
    OT
    TE

We will have plenty of money to spend and spend is what we will do.

I think we very well could see Lamar Miller as the starting running back in 2013. The increased play we saw him receive at the end of the season was the lead in and I think he could be a dynamic back in this offense. Is he Reggie Bush dynamic? I am not sure, but I think he will be a threat out of the backfield.

We have to get a shutdown corner. There is a chance we retain Smith, which I hope doesn't happen. I believe we will draft a CB, but I think we need to also sign Brent Grimes. We will have money to spend and we need to go out and get the top at this position. I think DCR could be signed if we don't get Grimes, but I think Grimes is the play here. Yes he is coming off of an injury, but when healthy he is as good as it gets.

We have to get weapons for Ryan to throw to, but we also need to protect him as well. Jake Long regressed so much this season that he isn't worthy of the money being sought. We saw the decline begin in 2011 and in 2012 he was off the charts dreadful. As bad as Long was, Martin wasn't any better (left or right side). We will draft a tackle, but I think we will go out and sign one as well. Look for us to be a player in bringing in either Branden Albert from KC or we move Martin to LT and sign Sebastain Vollmer from NE.

Sounds like the team is content on going with Clay and Egnew at TE. Personally I would like to see us also sign Delanie Walker. I think Walker would be a good fit and can be a special teams horse for us, which is also needed.

At WR I think all the house money is on Greg Jennings. I am a little, a lot, worried about his injury history and the fact that he has only played in 18 regular season games over the past 2 years. I think he will be the top target and, when healthy, can provide a reliable spark for Ryan to throw to. He also can stay on his feet after the catch, which is a huge plus. If Jennings isn't signed, then Mike Wallace is going to be the play. The big question will be what happens with Hartline? I see us drafting a WR with one of our picks in the 2nd round, maybe Justin Hunter at 42 if he is still there (and I wouldn't rule out us trading up for him either). WR will be a huge focus this offseason, but there isn't anyone at 12 worth drafting.

So what do we do at 12? I think here we go defense and select Barkevious Mingo from LSU. He is a beast and has great size to come off the end, but with speed to fill the passing lanes as well. I have seen a couple of mocks that have us selecting Jarvis Jones. BELIEVE ME...I would wet myself if that happened. I have had the pleasure of seeing Jones play live and in person quite a few times. I have talked with him on one occasion and he is my favorite player in the college game. It would be amazing if Jarvis Motherf***ing Jones fell to us, but it isn't happening. Mingo though is a great option and will be a very solid draft choice.

We could also go G here and that would be a safe pick. Nothing wrong with safe, but Mingo is the correct pick.

I'm not high on bringing Bush back, at least not for much money. I wasn't big on bringing Jake Long back for big money either. But I'm starting to rethink that. With his recent injury history I would certainly be weary of signing him to a long term deal. But given what's on the roster I think I'd be ok tagging him and seeing if he can get back to an elite level. I haven't read through the Sean Smith contract thread. So I don't know what's going on there. But given our lack of depth at CB I'd be inclined to try and get a deal done with him.

If we keep Long I mostly agree with your thoughts. A pass rusher is a big need. I think we all see that. WR is a need. Jennings would be a nice addition, I think. But I didn't realize he was 30. He can definitely still be productive. But he's likely past his prime and coming off an injury. If someone like Mike Wallace is available I'd much rather throw a lot of money at him, even though Jennings would seem like a better fit for our scheme.

As important as LT is, I've come to think that the interior of the line isn't too far off. One thing I noticed watching the good teams in the playoffs this past weekend is how big and clean of a pocket some of them create for their QB, and then how hard it was for the QBs who weren't getting that. It seems easier for QBs to be able to step up in the pocket to avoid pressure than it is for them to move out of the pocket to avoid pressure coming right at them. It's also obviously easier to keep your eyes downfield if you are moving forward as opposed to turning and running. So I think our two guard positions could use a big upgrade. If Tanny doesn't have time to throw the ball it will decrease the effectiveness of whatever WR we get.

I like your vision, if he hit it right on the right pass rusher at the #12 pick... our defense will be scary good.

In the whole scheme of things I like Wallace a lot more than Jennings. I think Wallace can bring the speed we need and create some flexibility into the offense that isn't there.

Jennings knows the system and will have a comfort zone, but age + injures is a huge warning flag for me. When healthy he is a beast and can be a true #1. But can he stay healthy? Only 3 of his 7 seasons has seen him play a full compliment of games. Not good.

Not a bad plan. I don't think they are content going with Clay and Egnew at TE. I think TE will be a priority for them whether it's in the draft or FA.

I like taking a rush end at 12. I haven't watched enough of Mingo to really have anything definitive to say about him, but from what I can tell he's got all-world ability but has not used it the way he should have this year. I'd be fine taking a risk on talent like that. As for taking a OG at 12, there is no way the Dolphins should do that. Warmack is an elite guard, but you don't need to put any more big time resources into the offensive line. This team is missing playmakers, and at 12 you have the ability to get one.

God I hope not. They'd go into next season with the same exact WR corps plus Swope? Yikes.

I think you take Cordarrelle Patterson at #12 and trade back into the 1st to take Tyler Eifert.

    the poor house
here is how I see the offseason going.

the pestimistic side of me sees the dolphins whiffing in free agency and having another sub parr draft .

i see the Bills and jets both having better drafts then us because they got new gm's and we still have Ireland.

on the flip side of the coin I see us signing three good players and drafting one good player out of all our draft picks .

sorry I cant be more optimistic but LISTENING TO MR Ross has made a skeptic out of me but hey if we hit a home runin f/a and in the draft i wont doubt the front office anymore.

This offseason is going to be such a whirlwind. So many key free agents and I could make an argument to re-sign or let walk on all of them.

Tons of cap room and 5 picks in the first 3 rounds. Gonna be exciting.
