I was thinking the same thing. If Miami doesn't pay him, which history has shown they do not frequently do... He'll get a big offer at another big program sooner than later.
You could throw a trash can full of rocks out to the post, and he would be more effective than Reggie Johnson has been lately.
****ing awesome. It should be interesting to see if we slid into that final #1 seed. I don't think we will, but you never know.
I'd love to see the baseball team win in the NCAA's as well, we were in line for an ACC football championship game, we won the ACC BBall tourney and regular season championship (IIRC) and the Baseball team winning would be a nice cap stone
So let me get this straight. Miami split the regular season with Duke, with each team winning at home. Miami won the regular season ACC Championship AND they won the tourney while Duke got knocked out by Maryland, who got knocked out by NC who Miami beat in the tournament championship game. Miami won at home by 30 while Duke won by 2, with Miami having the chance to win it in the last second. If Miami doesn't get the 1 seed, that's fine. But no freaking way should DUKE get it over Miami. No way man.
I wouldnt say favorable, Indiana is arguably the 1 overall, NC ST, Butler, Marquette, and Syracuse.....if Cuse plays like they know how they beat anybody anywhere but they are out West.... FWIW I have Miami losing to Marquette...... Easiest Region by far in the West....mainly because Zaga is the 1 there.....Miami got hosed they should have been a #1 over Zaga....
Must see.. http://theuhoops.tumblr.com/post/46263045919/must-watch-the-canes-celebrate-in-the-locker-room
Balls! Hurricanes center Reggie Johnson out with 'lower-extremity' injury University of Miami center Reggie Johnson did not travel with the Hurricanes to Washington D.C. Tuesday, leaving the No. 2 seeded Hurricanes without one of their key big men for Thursday's NCAA Tournament game against Marquette. The Miami athletic department said in a short press release Tuesday night that Johnson sustained a "lower-extremity" injury in Miami's 63-59 Sunday win against Illinois and that Johnson's "timetable for returning to the court is uncertain." Multiple sources confirmed Johnson had surgery on his injured knee Tuesday. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...ggie-johnson-injured-20130326,0,1449859.story
So uncharacteristic of them to go out that way. Poor shooting, Durand was shooting over three defenders, Shane was not Shane. Hats off to Marquette.
http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/04/23/3359319/um-on-transfer-list-of-former.html would be a HUGE get, considering Larkin is probably going pro. He's putting in a waiver so he doesn't have to sit out a year, too. Plus, Demetrius Henry is announcing tomorrow. Big time recruit for Miami. It's between Miami and South Carolina.
Canefreak does it again...
Nice verbal commit. The University of Miami has long had Champagnat Catholic - Hialeah defensive tackle Travonte Valentine atop its recruiting board, labeled as a must-get in-state prospect. On Wednesday, the Hurricanes landed their man when Champagnat coach Mike Tunsil confirmed that Valentine committed to Al Golden's program. Valentine is Miami's 20th commit for its 2014 class, and he might be the biggest. He's a consensus four-star rated recruit who is considered one of the top 50 players in the nation by many of the major scouting websites. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...t-travonte-valentine-20130703,0,1238656.story
I know verbal commits aren't binding and subject to change but it lays the ground work for a solid relationship to be built.
Considering the DT depth and the failure to bring in any elite DTs last recruiting cycle, I'll take the verbal. We also have a top JUCO DT coming in in 2014 as well.
Hopefully he qualifies which looks like it may be a problem. We need him. Our DT recruiting has been the WOAT.
Miami is quietly raking in a lot of commitments from their own back yard this past spring and summer.
Picked up another committment from Trent Harris today. The defensive class is shaping up nicely, especially the defensive line.
